Shocking.

I only met Brandon a few times. I introduced myself to him once at the Globe as he was the only guy I hadnt met at a particular table. It was nothing more than a "Cheers, nice to meet you" but after that, he always came up to me, asked what was up and usually offered up some whiskey. ;) It did not suprise me that he had such close and passionate friends, which I know there are many of on these boards. My heart is with those people as well this morning.

I was with him when he died. He was a very good friend.

Bob Dylan wrote a song for every occasion:

He was a friend of mine
He was a friend of mine
Every time I think about him now
Lord I just can't keep from cryin'
'Cause he was a friend of mine

He died on the road
He died on the road
He never had enough money
To pay his room or board
And he was a friend of mine

I stole away and cried
I stole away and cried
'Cause I never had too much money
And I never been quite satisfied
And he was a friend of mine

He never done no wrong
He never done no wrong
A thousand miles from home
And he never harmed no one
And he was a friend of mine

He was a friend of mine
He was a friend of mine
Every time I hear his name
Lord I just can't keep from cryin'
'Cause he was a friend of mine.

Im really sorry to hear this news. What makes it scary is that we had a game last night too and to think that that same sitiuation could have occured on my field instead is mind-numbing. Is there any word on if it was genetic or health related, or a freak accident? Im not trying to pry and feel free to not respond but Im just worried that there might be something we can do or watch for in order to prevent something like this from happening in my league.

Never met Brandon, but if Ben vouches for him, I'm sure he was a stand-up kinda guy. My sincerest condolences and heartfelt sympathies go out to all those affected by this rather unfortunate event.

Not to sound clinical about this, but if it was not a congenital defect, inhereted condition, or freak accident, something had to precipitate this. As many of us are active in our everyday lives and in our pasttimes, if there is something we can learn from this to prevent it from happening to others, I agree with BallsDeepFC, let us know, so we know what warning signs to be aware of.

We’re all leading pretty unhealthy lives with our boozing and smoking, bad nutrition, stress, lack of sleep, etc. I know I’m guilty of it. I’m also guilty of not getting regular check-ups either, but I’ll be changing this habit for sure and I hope that the rest of you will think about doing the same. Seriously, get some wellness tests done just to be safe -- for early detection of any problems. How many times have you read/heard that you should check with your doctor before taking on physical activity? It’s just a good idea no matter your age. People please -- take care of yourselves!! :(

Brandon was probably the best friend I've ever had.

He had better be boxing with James Brown in heaven right now wild drunk on knob creek. He's gotta be pissed though, it was our goal this year to make nearly everyone in s8 hate WB05 by the end of the season. Sadly he had to leave early so I don't think there's any way that will happen.

I am going to miss him very much. I don't think s8 will ever be the same for me.

Thanks for the kind words,

After waiting to meet the legendary WB Brandon for a long time, Karl intro'd us at the home opener. He was definitely Da Man. RIP, Airman Kitchens.
