Where do you hang out? I never saw this!

When I was a child my father would carry the house key in his mouth as he walked from the car to the house. And when I was a teenager I would see people at the post office carrying the envelopes in their mouths.

Including stadiums?

The crowd at the stadium/concert hall wasn't so bad, since the various venues I visited (Madison Square Garden, the Gershwin Theatre, Radio City Music Hall, and the Philadelphia Flyers stadium all come to mind) were all designed for fast, easy egress in the event of a crowded gathering (it helped that I always arrived at least one hour before the start time). What I tried to avoid, however, was the long weekend lines at the public library/post office/grocery store, plus the enormous weekend crowds at county fairs, hiking trails, bars, shopping malls, restaurants, apple orchards, and the Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park. The best time to visit a restaurant is when you are one of a very small number of customers.

Was NJ the worst state in dealing with Covid?
https://nypost.com/2...best-study/amp/

When looking at the list in the Google doc you attached, there seems to be a common theme between the supposed "best" at handling and supposed "worst" at handling: population density. With a couple exceptions, the "best" seem to be some of the least densely populated, while the "worst" seem to be some of the most densely populated (New Jersey), states containing the biggest cities (NY, LA, etc.), or both. To me, that speaks more to the inherent nature of infectious disease. It is going to impact a dense population more significantly. Whether that significant impact is directly on human life/health, due to lack of restrictions, or whether that significant impact is on the economy/education, due to an abundance of restriction, a state like ours is at much higher risk than Utah, Nebraska, Wyoming, Vermont, etc.

They did mention adjustments based on certain factors, but it didn't appear density was one (unless I missed it). The above is not to say that there is not plenty that could have been done differently here, in California, etc. Just that I find it difficult to come up with an apples to apples comparison on how our states handled the pandemic versus how Nebraska handled it.

One of those exceptions would be Florida, which
despite its size has dense populations:

infectious disease impact(s) a dense population more

Agreed. However, I have watched many commentators blithely state that CA handled things far better than FL.

Didnt Florida not test as much? A great way to keep numbers down is to just ignore them.

NY forced Covid patients back into nursing homes.
What could possibly go wrong?

Actually, its not necessary. I know thats true, but even if I didnt, I understand how to use google so I could just spend 5 seconds and look it up myself.

Thanks for the link from February.
Any follow-up on how many tests were positive and whether any statistics were affected?

The mask mandate for buses has been extended until May 3rd, which angers me greatly. One of these days I swear I just might spend an hour and a half walking to the local Walmart. That is how sick I am of this ridiculousness. I would rather walk for three hours than cover my face for ten minutes at this point.

Wear a Jason mask. They may ask you to remove it.
