I thought Politz was on a first team contract?

He is for now, HGP. I think the thought was he earned himself another year here, but possibly only at a USL contract (much like Moreno earlier this year, albeit Moreno wasn't HGP this time around). Waived and then signed with the USL team.

So, he signed with RB for $54-57K & was cut.
Did he sign with RBII for the same salary?

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

In Moreno's case, highly likely.

In others (i.e. Zach Carroll, Rafi Diaz) I'm sure there was a pay cut. Tough to know for sure. I dont know that USL publishes, likely due to drastic differences among teams. My understanding is that most USL players earn between $1500-$4k/mo on 8mo contracts but NYRBII pays on the higher scale with limited teams offering healthcare.

Much like MiLB (which have similar really low contracts), players will keep playing in hopes of landing a larger contract.

Watched this game from start to finish.  Such a fan of Yanes.  That kid is an MLS player.  THe only thing that sucks is that he plays the same position as the best left back in the league.  Where someone like Kutler is really good on the ball, he's just not a good defender. Yanes actually is a good defender but he's also a very smooth passer.  Athletically isn't amazing, but definitely good enough for MLS.

Ndam is a beast.  Definitely our 3rd defender next year after Collin and Escobar are gone.

Moreno is an MLS player now, just needs to continue to mature.  Gets too crazy sometimes out there and has to have some poise.

Stroud is such a pest. Curious to see how he does in another year.

Good to know that the process is working.
HGP development is what RBII is all about.
The SuperDraft has lost its importance.

Rooting heavily for Orange County and Noah Powder to beat Phoenix. Due to venue issues, we would host them at RBA for the USL Cup once we beat Louisville.

The SuperDraft (which needs to be re-named) still has value, but if a club is using it as their primary means of acquiring young players, they are lightyears behind the rest of the league.

It does right now, but I wouldn't bet against it being totally obsolete in 5-10 years as more clubs build up their academies.

The SuperDraft ... still has value.

Someone needs to analyze the annual success of draft picks, then compare with the more recent academy & home grown products.

That would be awesome, November 8th is the final, I'd definitely make it out.

Any idea why the final is on a Thursday though? Seems silly when all the other playoff games have been Fri/Sat. Should have just have had the final on Saturday the 10th.

This draft seemed pretty good , I believe White/Barlow/Stroud could be MLS quality players although the competitions will be  tough, looking forward to the spring

TV. It's on ESPN2, and they're not going to bump Saturday night college football for a minor league soccer final.

Not for an MLS final, either
