Duncan is awful, Stroud is not a RW and honestly isnt even that good in his natural position.

Really need another CM and just let Dylan play RB for now. Mina looks like he was a miss and RB is still a big issue.

MLS needs an entire rethink with how they do roster pages and transparency. Its pathetic for a league that is growing to operate with so little accuracy.

Manoel has good moments but still struggles at doing striker stuff. Was at the match and Schwarz was not happy with his play in the 2nd half gesturing to him to make runs multiple times. Burke was solid in his cameo which was a nice surprise, hes still only a super sub/spot starter for me. Im sure Sandro is going to push for that striker signing that is being rumored.

Sean Nealis to LB maybe he's had a cultured left foot all along and we just never believed in him enough to use it

Im going to have a nightmare about this tonight.

Hall should be playing with the 2nd team. Lets not act like hes some sort of solution for the 1st team at this point. Let him destroy MLSNP and earn it.

#1443387 18 year old CB Jair Collahuazo?

Dont think its for the first team, but who knows. Kid has barely played a first team game for Emelec. RB2 just grabbed a bunch of open international slots, makes more sense to see if he can hack it there before signing him permanently.

#1443266 At some point, Tolkin will leave

I dont know why people are eager to wishcast Tolkin away. The season is cooked without him. There is no viable alternative at LB, Duncan was awful.

If we dont sign another striker I wonder if Morgan winds up playing closer to goal. He already wound up there when Vanzeir was subbed out for Wiki.

If Gjengaar can come good like Eile looks like he already has you could possibly go Forsberg-Gjengaar underneath Vanzeir and Morgan.

But really the answer is to sign a target striker.

I wont.

After another whelming offseason, not sure i want to even bother.  As it is, I didnt watch a ton of games last year.  Theyre no longer appointment viewing.

I cant jive posting on this site with the rest of us crazies and not watching the matches. But hey do what you want with your time.

Odd to say, but if (when) Tolkin is gone, our greatest need might be LB, as opposed to Striker.... Playing Duncan on the left and Dylan on the right is not a long term solution.

How far is Ofori?

Far if hes even a LB anymore. Valencia played there with the 2s over him and then Ofori like Ngoma was injured basically the entire season.

Our HGs have been dealing with some serious and chronic injuries that have stifled their development

Flip Amaya and Stroud based on how they lined up in preseason and thats probably it.

Morgan available off bench, Tolkin and Harper probably out.

#1442760 Ashley Fletcher no longer a rumour

Posted by TK_RBNY on 17 February 2024 - 09:14 PM

The team was aware of Cuchos existence they were never paying the $10 million necessary to sign him.

Tolkin will be gone this summer or next winter. Inevitable

#1442634 Ryan Meara end of the line?

Posted by TK_RBNY on 15 February 2024 - 04:34 PM

Last year of his contract and the team would be smart to not give him another one. He can join the team in an FO role if he wants.

#1442514 Cameron Harper's year to prove

Posted by TK_RBNY on 14 February 2024 - 12:50 PM

I'm not sure its necessarily paranoia. I mean they use that as an excuse - sort of indicate that they need to keep cards close to the chest when questioned - but I think cultivating fan engagement is just not at all the priority of upper management. They cancelled the initial press conference of the offseason. Just cancelled it. And then each member of the press got 1 question only?  They seemed totally unaware of the elephant in the room that the team sucked last year, and they had promised just a couple months ago that they knew it wasnt good enough, and significant big investments were on horizon.

They don't try to be accountable to the fans (like most teams are) because they arent. They are accountable only to absentee RB Global. That's how upper level management gets their bonus for the year/their next job in Europe.

A lot of this goes hand in hand with how they have altered who they want to cater to. Its transitioned from a in arena fanbase that is there for the sport to one that is there for theme night nonsense and other things. From die hards to casuals and children. So the invested fan gets even less of the stuff they want (good signings, regular press availability and updates from management) because they arent seen as important to the business metrics.
