#1366086 Can we bring some real talent here?

Posted by RedBullCola on 29 June 2020 - 06:25 PM

sad but not surprised

Omir Mines Stroud - this is your big chance

Can we please stop relying on homegrows and bring some real talent in here?!

Who is more blinded the FO with their low bids or the people in here who keep rooting for home growns....

The transfer window is open.  Go get some legit talent!

#1362631 Davis named captain

Posted by RedBullCola on 01 March 2020 - 11:12 AM

There is a deft way for a coach to handle benching a Captain. You say something like,  Seans an important part of our team and still our Captain. Hes struggling a little on the pitch right now, so were going to give him a few games off and get back to his normal self. Hes still an important leader for our squad and we fully expect him to see playing time soon.

Armas probably isnt capable of that though.

The fact we are going through scenarios where we are benching our captain speaks volumes.

Im holding out hope he steps up, and this potentially terrible season doesnt all fall on him.  Hes a good kid.
Does not need to be the martyr for RBG and Armas antics.

Lets just start the season and get this car crash of a team on the road

I mean what more do you need than, blowing a 3-1 lead in playoffs last year.  Oh he blew our best chance to win the cup, buy changing philosophy against Atlanta.

Scoring is down under him, no inspiring tactics, playoff chokes.

The guy is a joke.  Needs to go.

#1360699 Hamlett gets a new boss: Kevin Thelwell, Head of Sport

Posted by RedBullCola on 03 February 2020 - 02:24 PM

If your expecting more pieces... you are going to be disappointed.

This signing shows the red bull just went all in the youth development route

This guy is not leaving the prem, to nickle and dime here in the mls.  That would be a terrible carrear move.

I am expecting pieces maybe this summer, definitely next winter.

But I also expect armas to be out.  So I can take a tough year of development, to roll in to 2021 with some class players.

You cant win with armas, he got to go first.  Its odd in any league for a GM not to pick his own coach.  Armas is OUT.

I would like to think this is great news, but Ham Sandwich is still here. And so is Armas. And Im not okay with that.

IMO there was really very little justification in firing Petke (it worked out, but still). There is very real justification in letting go of both Chris and Denis, but were bringing this guy here in an oversight capacity?

This organization is all over the map.

Not all over the map.  Its just an issue with timing.  This is great news and explains the super unusual off season we just witnessed.

1. Hamlett was clearly the care taker until someone qualified was able to take the role.
- appears his job was to dismantle the roster, not add significant peices.

2. The talk of lopes and cosgrove was all PR to fake that NYRB was interested in competing for fans.  Gotta assume interview and negotiation lasted months, so no way would hamlett be allowed to spend millions and bring in players that could potentially not fit the new guys vision.

3. Hamlett is the operational guy. AKA non decision maker.  He will just push papers, if he stays.  He goes into the background, and we will never hear from him again.

4. Armas is out. If this guy is half as smart as we think he is, it will be clear that Armas is not a good coach.  No way this guy with Prem experience is going to see armas as class.. Armas is toast...

Don't see them doing that with Valot. Think he's better farther up the field.

I'm a big fan of getting the best 11 guys on the field so I would have to stay our personal lends more to something like a 4-1-4-1.

I've always thought Rza is better up the field and Valot is a legit good player.  Throw Sims, Royer, and Kaku on top of that.

Can we stop with the Valot talk please?

The guy has 2 knees injuries.  If he can be a good sub off the bench in every game I'll be happy.

Kaku and Long got to be pissed right now.  Just complete the burial and sell them off.

This off season makes no sense.  Media day gonna be hillarious.  How they gonna spin this to be a competitive team???

WTF are you talking about?

We have the USL/academy/draft signings and Valot is basically getting another player. Also, we didnt have Sims for a whole season last year.

...

;)

Armas called valot 'like a new signing' after the ATL game. Seriously, how do these guys get away with this stuff?

Worse yet, when Hamlett & Armas are finally put out of our misery, its going to take some time for the next coach & GM to set things straight.

The more I think about not signing anyone the more incensed i get.

Someone warm up the #redbull out machine.

What the hell happen to SKC? Would Peter Vermes be an option for us at all or would you prefer Armas again?

Vermes + spending on players would be great option.

At the end of the day if we're going to have the second smallest payroll in the league we have no hope.
