#1427763 New PATH trains

Posted by BillFromAstoria on 14 April 2023 - 05:41 PM in MetroFanatic.com

Good news: The trains are longer by one car.

Bad news: Still running every 20 minutes on weekends.

#1424893 First goal of the season

It's almost that time again.

Kyle Duncan (really!) is the only rostered player who can end the streak.

#1420359 Mateschitz is dead

The whole Save the Crew/Austin FC/Anthony Precourt situation puts any club moving in a bad scenario. Let's not forget, the Crew were in a far worse spot at the time than we are currently.

There's also the Chivas USA precedent. They shut down a club in the country's 2nd biggest market for 3 years. I don't think they'll do that, but I can also see the league wanting to start from scratch.

Figure even if Mateschitz dies tonight, the club will be RBNY for at least a couple years until Red Bull decides what they want to do, and then make a sale.

But think of the people at MLS who could potentially wring in big name investors to re-brand and in many ways re-launch a club in the nation's biggest city… and maybe you even do it in 2026, the same year we host a World Cup in the States.

Lots of possibilities.

Brilliant, as always. Thanks.

Ooh, this is a doozy. I don't have lineups pre-2001 in the database (should not be a problem, as no teenager played other than Howard for a game in 1998), and will only deal with regular season and playoffs...

First time two teenagers started: Magee and Gaven, 6/14/2003: 3:2 home loss to Chicago

First time three teenagers started: Ward, Bradley, and Gaven, 4/30/2005: 3:1 win in Colorado, MLS's first snow game

NO! NO! NO!

5/21/2005, 2:2 tie with New England http://www.metrofana...ory.jsp?ID=2530

Lineup: Wells, Ward, Agoos, Regan, Leitch, Bradley, Lisi, Guevara, Gaven, Djorkaeff, Ibrahim. Subs: Magee, Parke, Wolyniec.

Ward, Gaven, and Ibrahim were 18. Bradley was 17.

9/3/2005: 2:2 tie with KC (orange shirts game) http://www.metrofana...ory.jsp?ID=2839

Lineup: Meola, Ward, Agoos, Mendes, Regan, Bradley, Magee, Guevara, Gaven, Djorkaeff, Ibrahim. Subs: Razov, Galvan Rey, Lisi.

Dan, confirm or deny?

@CangyManMSG
This is believed to be the first @NewYorkRedBulls starting XI for an @MLS game that includes four teenagers:  Clark, Edelman, Ngoma, and Tolkin.  We’re live with pre game at bottom of the hour.
