In Topic: EPL Interest in Aaron Long

Maybe is agent is shopping him around? I sincerely doubt the team is.

Yeah, I've read from a few places that it's his agent.  I'd hate to see him go, but realize that at his age if he wants to make the leap to one of the Euro leagues at some point in his career he's going to have to do it sooner rather than later, but as I said before, it serves no purpose if he moves just so he can sit on a bench.  Articles I've read today seem to point to the "release clause" being low therefor making him attractive for teams looking for a quality backup, but if he's going to be backup then he shouldn't make the move.

Pulisic puts in plug for teammate Long

Heard the ExtraTime Radio team discuss.  They thought unless NYRB bring in a high level attacker to show ambition to win this year then sell Aaron, let him step to the next challenge, confirm the development model and roll with Tarek who has proven himself starter quality (granted not like for like replacement or DOY level but starter level none the less).

Not a bad take.

Read the article in the link.  A couple of thoughts.  First, it says West Ham are looking for a backup.  At Long's age he should not be going to a club to be a backup.  Second, Pulisic just joined his new team and hasn't played a game in the EPL yet so while it's nice that he's saying nice things about Long, he really is in no position to say whether Long will do well or not.
