Reyes did not look solid.. Tarek is up and down and Nealis looked weak...
Unless they plan on adding 2 more cb I'm worried about this backline with only Long being the good defender on the roster

Pls no more sliding outside back centrally. That was done cuz we didn't have enough CBs available.
It is not uncommon. In a 3 man backline, you want at least one CB to be very mobile. For example, Azpilicueta played a lot at CB for Chelsea and Walker played a bit for City.

no max of 1.05 a min of 450k. Its 450k of guaranteed gam 300 in 2021 150 in 2022. Up to 600k in gam if performance metrics are met.
Ah shit, I misread it. I thought they meant 450 + 300 + 150. That's much worse.

Huh? Not this year, lifetime. 450+300+150=900.
$300k (2021) + $150k (2022) = $450k

Yeah, I misread it, the way it was written, I thought it's 450K now, plus 300K in 2021, plus 150K in 2022.

This does free up a LOT of money. But still sad to see big Tim go.
RED. BULL. OUT.

I hate this move.. Egbo and Pendant weren't reliable I would have traded them and picks to get a decent full back.. Parker has been a stud.. Plenty of other guys could have been shipped for money.. Even if it's not nearly the same amount I think Parker was one of the best players NY had..
Reyes did not look solid.. Tarek is up and down and Nealis looked weak...

Unfortunately only long or Parker would have commanded the amount of money we likely need in order to shape the lineup the way the new coach wants to. Both in their prime American CBs who are in the upper echelon at their positions in mls. Anyone else we traded would have gotten us some draft picks in return.

In a salary capped league when you have a contract expiring and you are not going resign the player you cash out when you can
I can appreciate that even though its always tough to swallow a move that immediately makes your team worse. But was resigning him really out of the question? He's still in his prime, local guy. Would being a free agent have driven up his asking price by that much more than he's making now?

Resigning him couldnt possibly have been out of the question. Although tough to know for certain because of all the Mickey Mouse money.

We have been one of the lowest spending teams in the league. I find it hard to believe that that particular metric meant we were having salary cap problems or were likely to have salary cap problems. Possible? Yes. Probable. I dont think so.

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

Bummer, lets see what we do with the extra space.
Hope all these guys we've dealt last 2 years someday get a big cheer. Parker seemed like a great dude, and was a solid MLS player.
