Sims not having a team is down right shocking.

Any updates on this?
Playoff in Philly reminds me of him.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

One goal in 26 games for Doncaster in L1?   No thank you.

Could he be brought in for a look on a visa waiver?
He liked it here & played well here.

Small sample size, but didn't score, didn't set anyone up, terrible passing, and did no better after he left us.    He was good defensively, but is that what we need on the wing?    No harm in bringing him in for a look, but I'd hope we have better options.

Would hope the scouting and recruitment team has improved, or at least exists now, as opposed to when Sims was originally signed.

Last minute bone throw by former RBL head of recruitment Paul Mitchell helped out by Hassenhuttl being Sotons manager.

Our new analytics guy has plenty of time to golf so well see if theres less dart throws this winter. Certainly dont need any more project players. Have plenty of those

This might explain it:

https://theathletic....ball-since-may/

Josh Sims had already been admitted to hospital several times, sometimes rushed there in the back of an ambulance, before he woke up one morning in August fearing the worst.

The Southampton academy graduate had gone through a wretched eight-month spell, which began with a hamstring injury last December and culminated in what he thought would be the end of his playing career aged just 24.

“I remember we had all our family and friends over for (partner) Zoe’s baby shower at the end of July, when we had that really hot week,” he tells The Athletic.

“I don’t know whether it was the heat, but I started to feel unwell. I went upstairs and I remember going to sleep quite early. I woke up the next morning, sat up watching TV and had this stabbing pain in my heart.”

Sims sits up in his chair and squeezes his hands together to demonstrate the sensation he felt in his chest that morning.

“I genuinely thought I was having a heart attack,” he added. “This was a stabbing pain and different to anything I had before.”

This came not long after Sims had been released by Southampton at the end of last season. At the time he was linked with several Football League sides, including the Premier League club’s neighbours and arch-rivals Portsmouth but, behind closed doors, illness had meant he would often not been able to get out of bed, let alone sign for another club.

Indeed, Sims was left bewildered when former team-mates and other friends in the game would message to check up on media rumours about his next move.

“It was funny, because I knew they weren’t true,” he says. “I had other players messaging asking whether I was joining their club.

Wow
Sorry for him and wish him well
He is a good player. If he didnt get hurt that Philly game might have been 6-5 shootout hopefully for us

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

Was this an anxiety attack or does he have a heart condition?

A friend of mine had an anxiety attack and had similar symptoms that was being described by him during the covid pandemic. It's been months since it has happen but he is still shook but has improved a lot with therapy.

If it was an anxiety attack.. I would still take him back. The team would need to build him up..mentally. I wouldnt expect immediate success or similar performance to what he had when he was last here. if it was a heart condition issue... that is terrible.

Regardless of what happens... I wish him and has family the best.

We can bring in Dr. Sharon Fieldstone.  She's great with that stuff.
