I do not give a single f... about buts in seats.

Then you will not be disappointed.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

I think most in this fanbase would prefer the Henry era (1 SS, higher attendance) vs. the Marsch era (2 SS + an Open Cup run, lower attendance)

I think perception has been clouded by the past 2 seasons where the team hasnt been enjoyable to watch for the most part. The mostly nobodies playing the high press under Jesse were very entertaining teams.

Our biggest problem is that we have spent badly. Kaku hasnt panned out the way expected Jorgenson is the same

Nail on head. Add Veron and you have 10M of DP spending with pretty much nothing to show for it. Seattle parlayed 12M of signings into Lodeiro and Ruidiaz and a half-decade of trophy-winning performance. Obviously hindsight is 20/20.

Then you will not be disappointed.

Its not my job to care about it. Dont get why anyone cares about it. Doesnt have any impact on my enjoyment of a game

No one is going to put buts in seats outside an established older name. I much prefer the Red Bull way because frankly the soccer more entertaining and has an identity. Give me more yearwood mixed in with guys like Caden Clark who are hungry and may not be here long but will help us win. Frankly I do not give a single fuck about buts in seats.

Old, high profile names more often than not turn out to be duds or locker room head cases. I'm fine with passing on them.

Here is the larger problem, the spending (like you mentioned). We are signing the Yearwood type players (a Championship backup player) to DP contracts while other teams are using TAM for World Cup veterans coming from a starting role with Juventus.

Yes, I realize the proposed U23 DP rule, but that doesn't explain some of the deals we are doing (or not doing). Where are the scouts in South America, Africa, etc... trying to get those hungry players, possibly that have made a name for themselves that want to move to Europe and use Red Bull as a springboard?

its not grelladinho literally said he doesnt want yearwood signings who are looking to launch to Europe so he wants older established players with no resale values. Yet Columbus biggest names are nagbe and zardes. Zeke rayan is not a big name in any way shape or form. When you say you want a big name that has implication and its not guys like Zelaryan

Big names was the wrong term for me to use here. I meant prominent players within MLS.

Anyone who is an avid watcher of the league knows that Zardes, Zelarayan, Santos (if he played), Ruidiaz, Lodiero etc. are some of the better talents league wide. Same with guys like Valeri, Rossi, Pozuelo, Pryzybylko, Gil, Bou, Quintero....these guys aren't huge in a name sense like Higuain or Chicharito but they are huge within MLS.

Red Bull has nobody like that. I wouldn't put Kaku and Royer near that group anymore.

Sometimes you also have to give players time Pedro Santos didnt do anything his first two years in the league. If we had that everyone on here would say he is the worst signing ever and the team should cut him. Pryzbylko is a career 2 Bundesliga player bet you would think we were not doing enough if we signed someone with a similar profile.

Who do you think on the current roster could become one of these talents in a few years? I don't think there is anyone.

Teams that compete are always spending and tinkering with their offense. I'm not seeing Tom Barlow scoring a dozen goals per season going forward. Or CCJ, Dru Yearwood, Valot, Omir...

yearwood I think will be strong next year we have talent in the back sans maybe left back. Clark is going be very good Im not saying our roster is good enough it is not. Just some of your examples havent always been the greatest and this fickle inpatient fanbase would have been done with a Pedro Santos after 1 goal 6 assists in his first 55 games or not excited by a guy like pryzbylko
