Shitty comments, but it seems absurd to punish the player for something his wife said.

In Topic: MLS to return for July tournament?

27 May 2020 - 04:08 PM

"The NWSL season, which never officially began due to the COVID-19 shutdown, will take the form of a 25-game tournament for the Challenge Cup, the NWSLs yearly championship. All nine NWSL teams will play four games to determine seeding, then the top eight teams will advance to the quarterfinal knockout round."

Am I reading this incorrectly, or is this 25 game tournament the extent of the NWSL season?  Nothing else planned?

I actually am an advocate for this type of "season" for women's sports in the US. There just isn't enough appeal for a full regular season + playoffs with all the other sports going on. But a condensed NCAA basketball style tourney would draw more eyeballs for WNBA, women's soccer, etc. Maybe have one large tourney every year to determine the championship, and the seedings for that tourney are determined by 1 or 2 smaller regional tourneys earlier in the year.

They better honor those extra seats. I'm assuming that's the case since they mention they locked in 2020 rates for 2021.

My buddy has 2 extra seats at the 25th anniversary prices and they told him they'd honor that price for 1 more year (will revert in 2022)

Leipzig went all out metro. Uninspired play. Couldn't bust the bunker. Gave up a flukey goal off a corner. Literally if I squinted I would have sworn I was watching RBNY

A little research:

Surely there's a difference between a shot and a tap-in. Isn't there a whole soccer metrics section (expected goals, whatever?).

I watched the whole game and Poulsen looked like season 1 BWP. Had multiple chances that I wouldn't call tap ins, but really should have done better with them.
