#1333404 Results Watch 2018

if you are relying on the worst team in MLS to help you out so that your team can win the shield...

you're gonna have a bad time.

It's ok I didn't want the shield or CCL anyway.

Agreed that it's definitely better than last year at least. I'm not gonna go look at all the NFL schedules but I get having the game on a Thursday if Atlanta/Seattle / New England are hosting if there's an NFL game that weekend but if we are hosting there is no good excuse as to why we couldn't play it on a Saturday.

I would like 1 game eliminations the entire way, shorterns the playoffs and gives the higher seeds a real advantage.

single game elimination like the NFL (and world cup knockout round) would be awesome.

#1332915 Leipzig poaching Adams

Homegrwons have differnt rules I believe.  Don't most of the $ go to NYRB?

https://www.mlssocce...and-regulations

  • A club shall receive 100 percent of the corresponding transfer or loan fee revenue (including agent fees and other expenses) from any transaction involving a Homegrown Player(regardless of service years).
  • " The club may assign up to US$750,000 of the transfer/loan revenue as General Allocation Money. (In the case of Designated Players, such assignment of Allocation Money can only take place after the club has received 100% of their out-of-pocket investment)
  • The remaining balance of the club's share (if any), and which cannot be traded, will be available to be used by clubs in the following ways:
    • Against the expenses incurred by the club in relation to the costs of an existing or new Designated Player; or
    • With League approval, against an expense that (i) would not otherwise have been incurred by the club; and (ii) reasonably represents an investment in the League or club (e.g., youth development and training facilities)

so if we "sell" Tyler for $5M, RBNY would have an add'l $750K of funny money towards the cap next year, plus $4.25M to use towards another DP. I don't think Red Bull parent can just pocket the money and say "gee thanks".  I think MLS would hold that money but allow it to be spent in one of the ways listed above.

I watched Leipzig's game this weekend and Tyler's never playing over the one dude. Whoever 44 was.  The other 6 he could play over though.

Kevin Kampl. Dude is a baller.  Per Transfermarkt, he's their highest valued CM at 18M Euros (they paid 20M for him exactly a year ago)

-------------------BWP

-------Royer-----Kaku----Etienne

--------------Davis--Rza

Lawrence--Long--Escobar--Murillo

------------------Robles

I think Adams is on the bench to begin - he's played a ton of minutes lately, and Davis/Rza is a solid midfield combo.

Yeah I honestly couldn't care less what he sounds like as long as the team responds to his coaching style with results. So far, so good on that front

Hero: Armas, for having faith in his reserves and rotating in the middle of a rough stretch

Bum: MLS scheduling for making us play our 100th game in a row, including an August wed night game.

Casseres looking like he can contribute serious minutes down the stretch.

Muyl turning into a true hustle player in the Woly mold.

White with a first pro goal but I think I'd rather see abang there going forward.

On to Montreal!

keep in mind that even though it's an 8pm kickoff tmw,  the projected temperature at 8pm tonight is still 90 degrees.  figure gametime kickoff tmw will be between 85-90...tired legs + heat = 2nd to every 50-50 ball.  I'd rather over rotate this game than under rotate.

Agreed - all supporters groups should be allowed to potentially burn down the stadium. And antagonize  not only opposing fans but also rival supporters groups from the  same team. It's soccer culture!

Nah fuck that. If you act like a dipshit for years you get what's coming to you.

There are 9 games to play, it's not like the season is over after tonight.

10 points back (from 2nd place) with 9 games left is a tall order... especially since we don't play the blue team again this year.

A loss tonight will (for all intents and purposes) eliminate us from CCL based on the combined 2017+2018 point totals (it would be a 2 team race at that point - NYC/ATL). If we win, we'll stay right in the thick of things.
