I was expecting to lose, but 3-0 was rough. Columbus is just a class above.

I just can't stand Armas and I'll never forgive him for costing us against Atlanta.

Pissed away the best team in MLS history (at the time) and has been an objective failure everywhere else he's been. Tinpot manager.

He's likely Bum of the Week, so it will be on the MF front page for a week. :)

Oh yes, it's the classic Ben Olsen Bum of the Week image. Love to see it back.

This is the first time in quite a while I felt like going down 1-0 wasn't an instant death sentence.

I want to see the roster continue to improve but this is the best we've looked on offense since the Marsch days.

The league's waiting to decide on roster rules and playoff structure until they see where Miami ends up, imagine my shock.

Good jerseys, but prices are out of control.

#1442746 Do we have a forward?

Posted by Indyanapolis on 17 February 2024 - 04:09 PM

if you want to rate a strikers finishing what you are really looking for is comparing their xG to their (xGOT) and how different that is (xGOT is xG factoring where you placed your shot).  Dante's is pretty much the same (2.27xg vs 2.10xGOT), but Manoel's last year was 6.58xg vs 5.65xGOT so his shooting takes away goals based on quality of his chances. Burke laughably is 4.76xG vs 2.37xGOT, just garbage shooting.

only xGOT flaw is im not sure it measure shot power, but this data checks out with eye test more often than not.  Pulled this data from fotmob

for other nerds a good explainer: https://www.statsper...n-target-xgot/

Nice stat here. For last year:

Vanzier: 2.27 xG, 2.10 xGOT

Manoel: 6.58 xG, 5.65 xGOT

Burke: 4.76 xG, 2.37 xGOT

Morgan (2022): 10.47 xG, 12.43 xGOT

Barlow: 7.86 xG, 8.10 xGOT

Funny to see Barlow with a higher xGOT.

#1441909 The 2023-24 Offseason Thread

Everyone has a different bar for de Grandpre's comment about investing more.

MdG has lied to fans for years and has oversaw declines on the sporting and non-sporting side of things.

So color me surprised.

The AO ppl who were on the perches behind 133/101/102 were definitely not up for the task and showed just how incompetent they were.

They sing for the TV.

It's not the jersey reveal, although I was told about what it looks like and the Hip Hop kit before it.

The 'Big' one hasn't happened yet.

MdG's renovations in the upper deck that required tarps are finally complete?

#1440894 Luquinhas back to Brazil

Posted by Indyanapolis on 02 January 2024 - 08:04 PM

Replacing someone like Luquinhas is something that truly competitive teams in MLS do. He's not a bad player, but doesn't live up to what we're paying him. Love to see it, feels like the FO in years past would have held onto him forever.
