Italy out of World Cup! Sweden in!

Odds of a USA-Italy friendly next June?

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Great news, don't have to see all the off the boat from Brooklyn Italians rooting for them during the world cup now.

Been saying for the past couple of years that Italy should have been calling up Giovinco. In a 2 game do or die series, they managed to score a whopping 0 goals. You can't tell me that he wouldn't have helped out. Oh well.

Most Azzuri fans I know & hang with are actually from Italy.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Who's that 2nd from the right at the commentator's desk? None other than our former coach 'Clever' Hans Backe!

Thanks for making this thread FMR...

USA floating the idea of hosting a "NIT" tournament next summer with Italy, Netherlands, Chile, Ghana, etc (prior to the WC).  I just watched the guys on ESPNFC ripping the idea, but I'm not really sure why.  If these countries are going to play friendlies anyway, why not organize a mini-tournament?  Maybe invite Wales, Ireland, and one other country and have two groups of four.  Just another opportunity for the young guns to get more experience against historically good teams.
