Section 8 should SERIOUSLY do this song.

- It's AWESOME
- It says FIRE (twice)
- It's got street cred for days. (The Tossers and Deal's Gone Bad have done it)
- You can belt it out drunk.
- It's anthemic (think You'll Never Walk Alone or I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles).

I Heard a siren from the docks
Saw a train set the night on FIRE
I Smelled the spring on the smoky wind
Dirty old town
Dirty old town

I'm gonna make me a big sharp axe
Shining steel tempered in the FIRE
I'll chop you down like an old dead tree
Dirty old town
Dirty old town

And no it isn't saying Chicago is crappy it's saying Chicago is BADASS.

It's perfect, I think. It has a small enough range that pretty much anyone can sing it, and it's always struck me as a tribute to the things we love even when they're ugly or rundown, because they are ours.
I can just imagine this song swelling and rising out of the Toyota Park crowd and becoming a signature for the ISA and the club.

Get some lyrics sheets together.

If we include it in an early songs booklet I could see it working well.

I Really, Really, Really, Really, am in support of this.

It's a badass song that's easy to sing and is repetitive enough to get others to join along.

And it says Fire twice, and there's smoky wind.

Let's just start singing this at full time. If people don't join in, they'll learn.

I interned in the FO for a little while and trust me they are so dumb had they payed off the refs they probably would have presented them one of those huge checks during halftime on the field.

You don't think we should start from the beginning?

I don't know. I like the whole song but it is long.

Hey, I always thought that "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles" was a Michael Jackson song. Isn't that the one he wrote about his pet chimpanzee?

I'll get up and sing a rousing rendition of "Dirty Old Town", as long you are willing to get up and help me belt out a few lines of this great song.

I like it, it fits Bridgeview really well.
Since it has trains running though it all the timeand it's right next to an old canal and yes....people think it's a dirty old town. But it has the Fire, so it can't be too bad.
"Dave Checketts and SCP Worldwide partners Dean Howes, Kenneth Munoz, Michael McCarthy and Chris Bevilacqua, chose Real Salt Lake for the team's name because they desired to associate the team with a successful soccer club, and "Fire" was already taken."
