Even the suggestions don't seem to make any sense.   We already know the replacement.  When Marsch was on his way to Salzburg, Armas was going to be named head coach.  No reason to think that won't happen in this case.

Those rumors were pretty unsubstantiated weren't they?

I don't think so.  Believe it was a done deal.  That same story came from a lot of people who don't usually get those things wrong.  Even the silence from the team for those couple days said something.

Then it fell through.  THinking because the Salzburg coach's deal to leave fell through.

And now Salzburg is playing extremely well so don't see that job opening any time soon.

I assume it would be Zsolt Lőw... asst. @ Salzburg,  asst. @ Liepzig... obvious next stop is head coach here

Granted he's an awful person and was at the helm of the biggest failure in the history of the sport in this country, but I think he'd still be great at club level. I mean, he's been a coach in like a quarter of the MLS Cup finals ever right?

He was a good coach before, but that's in the past. As you just said, most recently he was at the helm of the biggest failure in the history of the sport in this country. The biggest failure ever. In the history. This guy has no business coaching soccer at any professional level any longer. He lost this privilege in Trinidad and Tobago.

Unless he leaves for a bigger job.

Ralph Hassenhuttl, RB Leipzig's (now former) manager, quit today.

Probably doesn't mean anything for Marsch's future, but worth keeping an eye on.

Salzburg coach to Leipzig, Marsch to Salzburg?

There is  Zsolt Lőw in the mix for any of those spots

Salzburg coach to Leipzig, Marsch to Salzburg?

I hope not, but that doesn't sound too farfetched. Salzburg won the Austrian Bundesliga and made the semis of Europa League. Very successful campaign for them.

No matter what any of us think of marsch I think it is pretty clear what rb and other europeans think about American soccer players/coaches and it's not good. I don't see him going there as a head coach any time soon, other smaller teams in Europe sure, but not rb, especially considering Leipzig finished 6th in bundesliga this year, 2nd last year, and it was not good enough and Marsch has not shown an ability to win in MLS.

Not pleased that the media has this info. Could be a big distraction for the team over the next few weeks.

We have been a well oiled machine this season, but a coaching change mid season could certainly derail us.
