You don't buy new tires in preparation for selling your car.

How much do you know about selling cars?

I thought you were joking when you brought up a potential sale.  The fact that they are investing in new designs and trademarks indicates to me exactly the opposite.  You do not invest in superfluous things like this for an asset you are about to sell. You don't buy new tires in preparation for selling your car.

exactly... though tires would not be superfluous

One of the things dealers often do with trade-ins, is to slap new rubber on the vehicles. Worn tires can be a deal breaker. In some cases, they will rip out and replace worn carpets. Add in detailing, and the re-sale value increases. Most of the work is done in-house by C-techs, so the cost is low.

They are changing the logo, colors and uniform but doing nothing about better players, better coach, better gm or higher salaries. They are suddenly trying to go from a soda identity to a generic one. To me, it looks like they are looking to cash in.

First off - the two have nothing to do with each other. The people who are designing the jersey and logo are not the same people that are choosing players or the GM lol. I really don't think this new logo has anything to with them selling the team...that's quite a stretch.

so they are downplaying the connection to the soda, exactly what so many here have been saying is necessary to improve support and ticket sales... and you read that to mean they are quitting.

There is plenty to complain about with this team, but a significant amount of people on this board have complained about the teams branding for a long time.

It's just disingenous to pretend like the rebranding is a waste of time or meaningless.

Rebranding is a very plausible explanation for the changes in logo, uniform, colors. But rebranding without changing the team name is not going to go far.

It's a significant change for sure, there's a reason why a lot of teams go through rebrand without changing the name. Besides, the name may still change, we don't know much yet.

Rebranding would not include a logo retaining the current brand
