So the boy's rescheduled tryout for the Galaxy Academy conflicts with a spring league game for the club he already plays for. Normally we could skip a spring game 'guilt-free' but the Gunners are already short due to one injured and several sick players. We were conflicted as well.

In the end we decided that it was Sam's decision - and he decided that he couldn't let the Gunners down because 'that's who he already plays for...'

I feel like Harry Redknapp when DiCanio caught that cross in his hands rather than score over the injured keeper... You don't know whether to choke him or hug him.

Next year...

Serves the Galaxy right for even asking him to try out, they should have just taken him on the squad.

Yeah. He's only 10 and was trying out for the U-12's.

Despite my best efforts, he really is an astonishingly good kid.

The view from the old man...

"Reminds me of Matt LeTissier who turned down Manchester United because he was Southhampton's best player and they were struggling. I thought he was an idiot at the time but I suppose it's admirable...'

Hilarious.
