#1377370 Cameron Harper from Celtic?

Posted by thoward18 on 15 January 2021 - 03:22 PM

Relatively young and with almost no first team experience in a crappy league. I think this is a move for the future.

The "crappy league" thing kind of loses meaning when he's on Celtic. There's a difference between not being able to crack a CL team and not being able to crack Dundee United.

At least in concept, this is an ideal signing. Good enough for Celtic to want to keep him, will be a domestic player but has a European passport for a potential big sale in the future.

#1377310 Haksabanovic linked to Red Bull, maybe to us

Posted by thoward18 on 14 January 2021 - 04:03 PM

Red Bull account on Twitter linked this article.

Now Haksabanovic tells NT-sport that new coach Rikard Norling called him, which he appreciates.

- It's done. He showed interest. He called me and explained how he looked at me and then he asked what I think, says the 21-year-old to the newspaper.

Haksabanovic no longer seems as anxious to leave Norrköping.

- It is not the case that I want to leave IFK. The only thing I said is that the best thing for me would be to get out and play better football, better challenges. I'm not saying I want to leave IFK. I feel good here and they have taken very good care of me, he says to NT-sport and continues:

- They took me in when I had not played anything abroad. A damn big thank you to them. I appreciate every second I'm here. It's not like I'm asking to leave. The only thing I said is that I want to move on and look for another challenge. We will see what happens. This football we're driving now, maybe I'm getting better. That's really what I'm doing.

The 21-year-old emphasizes that he is not disappointed in Norrköping, but that the irritation is mostly against Hunt. The star also emphasizes that he continues to train with joy.

- 100 percent. You can see that in the training, right? I'm here. I want to get better. I want to drive with them. I just want it. I want to win gold with Norrköping, of course, says Haksabanovic to NT-sport.

Norrköping's star has a contract until the summer of 2024. He scored seven goals and eleven assists in 29 Allsvenskan matches last season

Things change fast, looks like this move is dead.

That's not what it looks like at all. My interpretation of that is that the deal is still very much a possibility but that he's not going to aggressively force a move and that he's going to give his all while he's still there.

#1377198 Will (when) we sign new players?

Posted by thoward18 on 12 January 2021 - 11:00 AM

I believe that people are saying these things to him.
I am not sure that RB will actually do anything.

I see zero incentive for people to tell Doyle that, get everyone hyped up, only to then do nothing. If they intended to do nothing, it would be far better to couch it in the language of long-term development and the academy and whatever bullshit we usually get.

- We hired the fucking sporting director from Wolves

- We hired a highly respected European manager away from the Championship

- Doyle is saying spending is coming

I know we all have PTSD from Hamlett's incompetence but any rational evaluation of those circumstances would point towards spending.

#1377097 Kaku out?

Landmark moment in this Club's history that we're the ones finally loaning out our undesirables to another RB club.

LOL Who?

and Who tf would want to come here anyway?

I know this may be hard for some of you believe, but the average European or South American soccer player with passing-at-best knowledge of MLS isn't looking at the prospect of living in the New York Metropolitan area while playing for a team with top facilities and a winning record over the last decade and thinking, "fuck that."

The problem has been Hamlett sucking ass at his job. Not a dearth of quality players who would be willing to sign here.

#1376828 Will (when) we sign new players?

Posted by thoward18 on 30 December 2020 - 12:02 PM

Based on the lack of trades and rumors, Im getting a bad feeling that the Thelwell/Hamlett brain trust is not going to make many new player acquisitions and is going to rely on a presumed boost from Strubers coaching.

When is the next trade window or acquisition day or whatever that will allow me to test this theory, or maybe feel better about the team?

They went after Yearwood in February and we didn't hear about it until two weeks before he was on the field.. We never hear rumors unless it's some drama like Kaku.

#1376715 BWP signs with LAFC, then Columbus

Posted by thoward18 on 23 December 2020 - 05:50 PM

BWP getting signed by Columbus pretty much debunks the "father time is undefeated" and "he's washed up" arguments that people were trying to make on this website prior to the start of last season.

BWP goes from one championship-caliber team to another.

There's no reason he couldn't have been a backup at Red Bull or retired here. He's still better than Barlow and White.

Literally fucking nobody claimed he was no longer an MLS-caliber player. What the fuck are you talking about?

#1376693 Cuts!

We got more for Patrick Seagrist's rights than we did for Derrick Etienne LOL

#1376687 Kaku out?

Posted by thoward18 on 23 December 2020 - 11:58 AM

In my experience theres no such thing as luck.

If you have the right people identifying talent you will strike gold more often than your competition.

Of course there is a such thing as luck. If DC offers Taxi a contract then we never get him. That's the definition of luck.

#1376638 Kaku out?

He's just ensuring he has a job in Germany/Austria. RBNY is his probationary period. Once he passes that, Struber'll get to zee choppa and he's gone.

He's not getting a job in Austria if he does a shit job here. And he's not doing a good job here with this current roster.

#1376616 Kaku out?

Kaku and Clark are as good as gone. Looks like there is no action during MLS free agency. Heres to looking forward to winter transfer window :-)

This is going to be worse than last winter.

It's been like three fucking days and the European window isn't even open yet Jesus Christ

#1376605 Juventus to poach Clark?

Posted by thoward18 on 22 December 2020 - 08:30 AM

Red Bull can go to Clark and his agent and family and say, "you can go the Miazga route and end up at a big team that doesn't give a shit about you, or you can go the Tyler Adams route." And I think that's going to be a very convincing point.

#1376507 Will we sign an MLS free agent?

Posted by thoward18 on 19 December 2020 - 12:00 AM

Perhaps the reports of multiple championships and the enhanced attendance figures have convinced the overlords that RBNY is doing just fine.

To their credit (and I say that in the most mild form possible), we got like 1.5 seasons of Hamlett's bullshit before they overhauled everything.

Yeah but unfortunately RB Global is all about the system! Any other Team, simply talent makes sense. Not at RB Global.

They've fucking turned Salzburg, Leipzig, and Bragantino into fucking forces. The system works. We're just the only ones not spending shit.
