Tuchel did the same thing with Callum Hudson-Odoi earlier this year, and then started him the next game.  Let's see how quickly Struber puts Harper back out there.

Good point - I'd think you'd want him to at least get some sub minutes at forward.... waiting too long will increase the resentment and stress.

That depends on how he performs in practice.   If he shows he can follow direction, he'll likely be rewarded.  If not...

If not, he shouldn't get PT. No one should be rewarded for poor effort. That sorta shit is infuriating.

Its a staple of every Red Bulls off-season for some fans that one or two young guys will surely skyrocket to the upper echelons of MLS talent if you just go ahead and play them 90 minutes every week.

Yeah totally agree. Football Manager [or whatever] isn't real life.

We would have never needed BWP if only we'd given Corey Hertzog or Conor Chinn a fair chance

Obviously dependent on performance in practice, but if he is doing well or seems to be trying, then carrots and sticks, man... even if its a sub for 30 secs - 1 minute. He's 19 - my primary focus at 19 was how to build a more effective gravity bong. Not saying give him time for nothing, but if he shows the slightest improvement in practice, I would make sure that is recognized in some way. A 1 minute cameo might work, or maybe just a positive statement at a press conference from Struber would have the same affect.

Subbing out a sub and then saying he wasn't good enough doesn't seem like the way to build up a 19 year old, even if he is a professional athlete. I trust Struber knows what he is doing, but if I was Struber, I would be looking for any slight improvement so that a carrot can be given.

Sparta Metro Firm brought a grav to a couple of tailgates back at Lot 16A.

Maybe he'd been fucking up in practice alot, then showed the slightest improvement, and this appearance was that carrot... until he fucked it up.   Struber was the RB academy/reserves guy for a long time and is especially experienced at managing young, developing players.  19 isn't a kid anymore in pro soccer.  He's getting paid well to perform well.

I'm thinking this is Cameron Harper's year to prove his professional level. I think he looks great as a speedster out wide on the right... Pretty sure Sandro utilizes the outside backs for that?
