Wow! Pleasantly surprised!

Armas and Hamlett should have never been given the full time jobs. They were assistants for a reason. 2 years later they have both been removed.

I think this is great, seems like this is a fresh reset for the club. Thelwell gets to choose his manager, and start buying players.  Now....Red Bull is still going to have to open up the purse for this team to improve, but this is a great first step.  It is so refreshing to see SOMETHING from this team. To see something that says our current form is unacceptable.

Given Thelwell's background I would think the new coach will be someone from Europe / with European pedigree. But who knows?

MESSI PLAYER COACH NOW!!

We will sell you part of the NY franchise (NY Messies brought to you by Red Bull) and you will be on every can for the next 10 years.

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

Is Thelwell scared to fire Armas or something?

Really makes you question Thelwell's intelligence that he hasn't fired Armas yet.

How bout now? :)

He needed prompting from Grelladinho, obviously.

I am shocked that Thelwell did not keep Armas on just to personally spite Grelladinho.

Wow Thelwell is alive! Armas fired

You called it! I didn't think Thellwell had the guts to do it just yet after he didn't do it in Orlando, but he just proved we may have struck gold with Thelwell! He is definitely here, the question in this thread had been decisively answered.

Just watched Thelwell's press conference and I do have to say he's impressive.  Hard not to feel good about him running the ship.  Almost won me over as much as Jesse did at that town hall.

Link?

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Happy that Thelwell recognized this wasnt only about results but how RBNY have strayed from their identity and didnt look like a Red Bull team anymore. Details are just as important as the wins and losses.

Seems that Armas had the freedom to set up the team however he desired and consistently strayed away from the core principles.

A word-cloud approach to Fridays press call shows that he used the terms results and performance five times each, but alluded to identity on a whopping nine occasions.

The high press is how Bayern and Liverpool won the last two UCLs, not to mention how RB Leipzig got to be Bundesliga challengers. Also, and MOST IMPORTANTLY our best years were under Marsch playing the high press. The system aligns with RBs transfer policy to create players/pick out journeyman thatll fit.

It blows my mind that Armas dropped it (a system he knows well) and replaced it with seemingly nothing.

I was very happy to see that a guy that contributed or that I assume contributed to Wolves accomplishments was now here. I like that I see they've grown while he was there and they are very decent side.

That gives me hope.

Now that he fired Armas and even came out and said listen this was my decision nothing against him etc etc but we want results... He said everything I like to here, accountability and the desire to excel.

I hope and have confidence he will find a good manager and select very talented players to join Metro
I just want Metro to win a title sometime in my lifetime.
