Neighborhood/Town/City Banners

Now, I'd like to see something a little more grassroots. There is a lot more banner space than we were counting on in the new stadium and we can do more if we all do a little work.
I'm working on a 6"x18" neighborhood banner that probably will hang off the upper deck eventually (think the Club America fans' banners a few weeks back) with S. LOOP in white on red. This is actually more of an Argentinan tradition where fans do simple banners with their city or neighborhood in club colors.
These will be real easy (and cheap) to do, and it would be great to see other fans do even a few similar banners with things like "MIDWAY," "WICKER PK," "INDIANA," or "OAK PARK" in white text on red hanging all over the stadium, even in smaller dimensions.
Figuring 5 bucks a yard for even good red cloth and cheap white latex paint, you could do a decent neighborhood banner for under twenty bucks. It's just white block letters too, so you don't need to be an artist.
Things like this will give the stadium a real local flavor and show the breadth of Fire support. If people are seriously interested I can even offer to help get you started.

Or to represent regions (my friends who I go to games with come from all over, so ours would probably just say "SW Burbs")
You can get the flags for dirt cheap at www.patriotic-flags.com. It's where I got my city of Chicago flag. Get a 3x5 flag for 13 bucks, some cheap paint. You're set.

I've gotten a few emails from interested people. We might see these cropping up soon.

I might finish the S-LOOP banner by Saturday.

I don't think it even cost me $20. It's 9ft x 5ft red canvas painted with white outdoor latex paint.

I won't be at the game Saturday. Take pictures!
Did you ever pick up that tape from Marcin?
I just remembered that crap.

Actually, someone on BigSoccer was able to get me a DVD of the Grand Opener, so if anyone else wants a VHS copy of the Whomping of the Bulls, I guess it's available.
Marcin, if you still have it, sorry for having you hold onto it for so long. I never heard anything or who it got left with. My bad.
