It's already "inspired by" a bygone scarf.

Yeah I remember that one. It was a good one.

The banner looks very good Liam . . . and if it inspires a new scarf, I'll buy a couple, maybe 3 (as a gift to a distant fan serving in the army in Iraq).

Yeah, maybe. We need to space out the scarfmaking a bit; URS has a woven one in the hopper still, and depending on the result tonight (and the rest of the season) we may have to make special edition scarf this offseason...

If this really can be limited to $20 I am game to make a Hyde Park banner during my break. Is there someplace in the city I can get the materials at?

Katie, SF, or anyone for that matter; it's really cheap and easy, and you don't have to make it enormous, something even like 3x5 or so can work.

Just go to a WalMart or fabric store (like a JoAnn) and find the cheapest red cloth they have and buy two yards or so, this will cost as little as $10, easy. Then get your hands on a small can of latex white paint at Home Depot and a brush (also less than $10) and find a good space to paint in. It doesn't take high skill or lots of time, and I really recommend it.
