I love that we won the shield. I love that we broke the points record.

If we get knocked out tomorrow night, this will still be a failed season.

Yes. The window for success is not indefinite.

This is the best team we've ever had filled with all time MLS bests (Bwp, Robles), international caliber players (Murillo, Kemar, Kaku), and the brightest American not named Christian. We'll probably lose several of these in the off-season. We have all the tools to win it all. A first round exit in light of all of this would definitely be a failure.

i agree cuz it would be less of a sting if we got the CCL berth in addition to the Shield win. Shield alone with 71 pts but nothing else? Anti-climactic.

RIP Guillermo Romulo, Alexander Francis Orig and Celenio Eleazar.

RIP Cesar Castello, Mike Vallo, and Glenn Stampiglia

Anti-climactic.

That sums up a Shield, but no Cup season perfectly.

Got my photo with Shieldy! 👍

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

I held & hugged the Shield at the tailgate!
Luis hoisted it after the match!

we made it past the risk of a failed season.  we are matched up against a tough Atlanta team that finished a point behind us in the standings.  I think we match up very well against them - if they knock us out at this point, i'll concede that it is no longer a failure, but a disappointment

Agreed. 3 of the best 4 teams remaining and us vs Atlanta is essentially MLS Cup in two games IMHO.

I fear no one, but respect the final 3 opponents. Atlanta has a lot of talent, it would be a mistake to underestimate them.

If Im reading this correctly we make CCL if anyone but Portland win the cup. If we get into CCL + supporters shield (and best in MLs history) + conference semi finals is it a failed season?
