Stefano Bonomo also back in the 18 after recovering from an injury.
Bezecourt and Scarlett also noticeably absent. Metzger likely with the first team in Boston.
Kazu Shigenobu gets a start.
Not too surprising: No Brandon Allen in the 18.
First to score, Harrisburg and its former NYRBII player James Thomas knocking in A rebound after a couple stops from Diaz.

So I've managed to watch the first half and they are already down 2-0. Deservedly so too.
That Shigenobu doesn't belong at this level yet going by what I've seen.
Just about the entire back line isn't good. Same as usual I guess. THe most annoying part is that they don't look at all like they are playing for eachother. Some guys are, but too many aren't. Gotta question Woly and Seka.
Lineup is this:
-----------Martinez----
Flemings Basuljevic Valot
------Shigenobu Tinari
Najem Schmoll Abidor Kutler
Najem and Kutler are similar in that they are decent at times with the ball but just not good enough defensively.
Valot isn't and will never be MLS level. Unless he's a good leader, I'd ditch him.
Happy to see Basuljevic playing higher up. His passing is good enough to make it work. His passing is definitely MLS level, still worry about the fight level.
Tinari good, just a good ball winner.
FLemings also good.

Not that results really matter for the Baby Bulls, but surely its better for the development of players like Etienne, Allen, and Bezecourt to play 90' in USL than to play 5 minutes at the end of a USOC game?
If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

Agreed to an extent.
I think you need players to have the first team experience and game day exposure every once in a while so that the nerves up to physically getting into a game are gone. I'm fine with this as the club does a pretty good job with getting first teamers into USL games if they aren't seeing first team minutes.

Noah Powder signed to USL deal. Was with team as an academy player.

FUCK YES.
I thought he did rather well given the amount of playing time. Also played right back as well. I think he prefers to represent TT internationally.

This would have been a win even if it were a first team signing.

--Powder--------------------Ndam-----------------------------Abidor--------------------Najem--

Had to go into work and missed the game. 3-2 loss. So I assume the defense was garbage as per usual?
At least we're giving Louro and Diaz plenty to do.
Edit: Ndam own goal, yikes.

DIdn't get to watch any of this one. Wanna see Powder so maybe I'll watch it in a minute.
Can't say it enough but Ndam has be to left alone with the USL team. He's a really long kid who's so young and he just needs time to figure out his body and how he can use his athleticism. Sekagya hopefully can do good things with him.

Next month, RB2 plays my alma mater in a preseason scrimmage. Whippany, is that where the Training Facility is? That it was East Hanover?

The Training Facility is actually in Hanover, not East Hanover. Whippany is the section of Hanover it is in, so, yes, that scrimmage will be at the Training Facility.
