Yeah, I never mind getting guys like Harper, we just needed a no doubter on top of it all.  At least one no-doubter.

Exactly. Interested in seeing what Harper offers, but he is still a young project. And there are quite a few of those here already.

I'm not really seeing the point in signing Harper.

Assuming him and Fabio are it in terms of forward signings this winter (seems unlikely they would pursue another forward after this), Red Bull goes into the season with four projects up front: Barlow, White, Fabio, Harper.

Can any of them be counted on to score 12+ goals?

I don't understand why this team can't spend on a veteran, experienced DP striker. That's the need here and Red Bull keep signing these projects.

Kaku was signed in the winter 2018 window. If this one ends without a big splash DP signing it will be the sixth window in a row in which this team hasn't signed anyone big to bolster the attack.

I don't expect them to break the bank every year, but enough is enough with the bullshit about having 'targets in mind' and 'finding the right fit'.

or the quality of other imports and mls teams is greatly inflated by the defeatist mindset of this board

Yes and no. Imports do come in and bust every year, but the field of quality teams is getting larger and larger while Red Bull is chasing after defenders, goalies and high schoolers.

Would you take Red Bull's current top 3 attackers of White, Royer and Clark over any of these groups found in other eastern conference teams?

Zardes, Zelarayan, Santos
Pryzybylko, Bedoya, Montiero
Akinola, Pozuelo, Piatti
Bou, Bunbury, Gil
Martinez, Barco, Moreno
Higuain, Morgan, Pizarro
Nani, Mueller, Dike

I wouldn't. And any of those guys mentioned above would walk into the Red Bulls starting lineup. They aren't all MLS Cup winners but their respective clubs are putting themselves in a much better chance to win by having them.
