Our Chicago (Our Chicago)
We love you so (We love you so)
We will always follow where you go (where you go)
Fire here (Fire here)
Fire there (Fire there)
For the Fire we will travel everywhere (everywhere)

The song doesn't flow the way it's intended to if you take out too many syllables.

Uu-urbs in horto-oo ma-gi-co-oo...

You are my one and only Chi-ca-go-oo...

To dream in red, to dream in white

For you we all shout in-to the night

*first verse - clapping, jumping, flags*

Our Chi-ca-go

We love you so

Like her-o-in

Fi-re, a drug for Chi-ca-go

Just like hash-ish

Or L-S-D

For the Fi-re there's com-plete in-san-i-ty (in-san-i-ty)

*second verse - voice only*

Our Chi-ca-go (our Chi-ca-go)

We love you so (we love you so)

We will al-ways fol-low an-y-where you go

(where you go)

Fire here (Fire here)

Fire there (Fire there)

For Chi-ca-go we will tra-vel eve-ry-where (eve-ry-where)

another thing is to start chanting it slower so more people pick it up and we are all singing the same lyrics... then pick up the pace.

I like the lyrical cleanup pretty much...I think it needs to get sung by everybody for a while to work any final kinks out.
One note......."Shall"?
Who says shall?

Check it out. So we all know Toronto is trying to get Horto Magico going and I personally think their lyrics are ass, but check out what the Portland Timber's fans are up to. They are going to try to sing about THEMSELVES!How fucking lame. I ususally give them some credit for their thing they got goin out there, but c'mon singing about yourselves and not your team is so stupid. Although their simple lyrics and call and response will likely get some traction, you'd have to be a moron not to be able to parrot a capo for every line. We need to step our game up and get our version down so at least somebody is doing the song some justice.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Timber's Army lyrics:

THE GREEK CHANT

Capo: So who are we?
All: SO WHO ARE WE?

Capo: We are the boys!
All: WE ARE THE BOYS!

Capo: We're from the North End and we're here to make some noise
All: MAKE SOME NOISE

Capo: For our boys!
All: FOR OUR BOYS!

Capo: And you will see!
All: YOU WILL SEE!

EVERYONE: WE'RE GONNA JUMP AND CLAP (JUMP AND CLAP UNTIL THE END) AND SING FOR VICTORY!
EVERYONE: AND WHEN WE DO!
EVERYONE: YOU'LL KNOW THAT NOISE!
EVERYONE: CAME FROM THE NORTH END FOOKIN' TIMBERS ARMY BOYS!
EVERYONE: OH ROSE CITY!
EVERYONE: OH ROSE CITY!
EVERYONE: THIS IS OUR TEAM: THE MIGHTY P-T-FC!

It's really ironic because I was in Timbers Army tonight and couldn't figure out some of the words. I was going to mention in this thread that T.A. did Horto Magico and found that their lyrics were posted here two days ago!

Say what you will about their choice of lyrics, I'm not a huge fan of their self promotion in this song and several others either. But they have that song down beautifully, to where it probably the loudest and easily the longest song they sung tonight. It's definately my favorite Timbers Army song, and again, while the lyrics are somewhat self-promoting and I'm not a big fan of that, the line of "We're gonna jump and clap and sing for victory" gets everyone jumping through the end of the second part very effectively.

I like your version better, and I really hope you do nail UIHM down as well as Timbers Army because it sounds amazing in person when it catches on!

Self promoting aside they have gotten words easy to sing and the supporters are already into it.

We have to get this one down.

You know, I don't blame you for holding that opinion. I live an hour away from Portland and never stood in Timbers Army for the longest time because from what I saw/read on here and some of their other internet stuff, I hade made up my mind that they were a bunch of annoying wannabe's that I wanted nothing to do with. And having been in TA for a couple games now, I can definately say that some of them are! But as a whole it's the next best thing to S8 IMO, and it's not really fair to judge them all based on some internet idiots. Matter of fact, the internet isn't a very good way to judge people period most the time. I think I can objectively say that S8 is superior to TA in a lot of different ways, but behind S8 and Barra Brava, Timbers Army has to be #3 in the US and that's pretty impressive for a 2nd tier team with no promotion/relegation system!

Just my 2 cents...

I think slowness is the key. Watching the video from Portland gave me the impression that they get all out of breath. I think the way to make it sound awesome is to go at a decent pace and elongate the last syllable. Oh ChicagOOOOOOH! We love you SOOOOOO! I'm on call for work tomorrow so I most likely won't make it to the match but if I do, I'd love to join you all in singing it!
