Hopefully this one is a contributor. I mean for every Royer we sign, we get like 5 Tetteh's.

This.

Sounds like he will be a DP. So this better be a hit. Has an interesting resume.

Very likely but depends on whether his salary is above or below the max individual cap hit.

This season MLS is going live with a new "under-22" rule that essentially waives the transfer fee in consideration of DP status for young players.

I can't see him not being brought in as a Royer replacement.     Royer would get traded for real value in MLS, and a 31 year old winger doesn't stay long in a RB system.   So we wouldn't be filling any holes, just upgrading a spot that most of us would consider a low priority.  I love Daniel, but I'm not excited about him being re-positioned as a forward in a 442, or switched to the right.

I think royer will still be on the squad. However, he will play on the right side or at forward if this guy gets signed.

Royer will probably get phased out by Clarke or Fernandez (critical year for him)

yeah, if he comes, I see:

-----------Royer---DP------

---------------Clark---------

---------Hakes----Valot---

------------Yearwood-----

-XXX--DP--Parker--Duncan

With Royer and Hakes rotating positions with overlaps. I left Long off as I still predict he'll be sold to Europe in coming weeks.

Who is Hakes?   Is Swedish 1st division at MLS level . I watched Malmo in Florida over the years and my opinion is  at best they were lower level MLS

I guess haks would be better shortening - I felt I would butcher his name if I tried to spell it out from memory.

Idk he was good enough to earn a move to the PL and has been one of the better players in the Allsvenskan since he returned. Norrkoping paid a league record fee ($2.9 million) to bring him in.

Swedish level is probably a little lower but he also is one of the best players in the league.  Led league in assists, so there is some risk but im not overly worried that he will be a complete flop.  Should be at worst solid unless there is some attitude issues or injury bad luck

iirc, Danish Superliga is the strongest of Scandinavian leagues. taking a flier on a guy from Scandinavia and paying $2m for him is diff from this guy. At least this guy has more than a handful of 1st div starts. Wouldn't surprise me if he ends up in Austria, possible outside chance he's loaned to us for 6 months to a year then goes back to Europe.

if he signs, i dont think he will play the diamond. Haksa has traditionally been a LM or AML

I see him as the 10 or up front as being more likley or Struber is not going to commit to the 41212. Think he is the exact player who would have been perfect in the 4222 as he likes to attack space and has a high work rate
