NJ is a bad sports city. True NJ teams never have and never will draw well.
Professional sports attendances have been declining in many cities across the USA. Older fans are finding it easier and less expensive to watch at home on the 70-inch TV. Younger fans are not as prepared or able to buy season tickets, and can watch multiple games in multiple sports on their cellphones.

both teams should be teaming up and selling tickets to both games on the same day as a package ... to get a crossover and some new fans into the buildings for each.
First step is convincing some big shot in each FO that this was their idea.

The weekend they play in LA, where I live, is the one weekend this year where I will be in New York ...
I believe MLS knew this, when it planned the schedule.
