if I understand correctly, the flag tifo wasn't meant to be some sort of statement of appreciation or allegiance toward any particular country. FYI, there were England, Poland, and Austria national flags included as part of the tifo. They were picked because they were red and white, not because of an intended desire to make an overt political or cultural statement. I honestly thought people would be complaining about the Austrian flags as pandering to our corporate overlords, not the English flags since one of our favorite players is English, but whatever.
RedBull gives you wings...and the wings given to the RBNY marketing/PR team were from a Dodo bird.
