I agree. He may have been a soccer god at one point in his career, but he is still but a man. His consistency in his reactions and candor make me think he believes this as well. However, his previous experience at being a soccer god shows, and when the tendons/knees/hammies cooperate, it is mesmerising to watch.

I'm happy he's here and not on an opponents team.

no. he's french, doesn't look like the average fan, started slow with some injuries and makes more money than all of us. therefore he deserves no love. i think he doesn't care or something.

Leading the league in goals from the run of play. The standings would be pretty damn depressing without Henry

So I'm no Henry fan, but the guy is tied for top of the league for goals now, despite getting a slow start to the season and not always being healthy.
Still all from the run of play.

Credit due.

I hope his "non fans" can also, at this point, acknowledge his commitment to winning here.

For the record, at this point last year, Angel had 8 goals and 2 assists in 1157 minutes, with TH14 at 8 and 4 in 1068 minutes. Let's hope Henry in 2011 doesn't so closely mirror the rest of Angel's 2010 season.

I've been so-so on him lst year and early this year, but it's clear to me he still has the talent. He's just limited right now by his own physical deterioration. He's still lethal up top, and is excellent when given the opportunity. But it's also clear he's hurting every game and can't run the full time. He has to disappear from the action when not absolutely needed, and save up for those moments when he can let his talent shine.

One of the prettier goals I've seen in MLS this season, reminded me of a typical Barcelona goal where Messi does a give and go with Xavi, then with Iniesta and then slides it past the GK. :D

Hopefully his great form continues and he can stay healthy. He can definitely compete for the golden boot if he stays healthy.
