So an 0-2-1 start merits a head coach firing?? You may be right that they are positioning a Petke on-boarding. We shall see if that all happens.Real Salt LakeVERIFIED ACCOUNT @RealSaltLake 13 min13 minutes ago
Real Salt Lake dismisses head coach Jeff Cassar: http://bit.ly/170320...ismissesCassar?
Wouldn't it be some shit if Petke got the RSL job on an interim basis and his first game is at RBA...

The rumor when Petke got hired was that he was going to be groomed to eventually take over.

From the press release:
"During the process of hiring the next head coach, RSL Director of Goalkeeping Daryl Shore will serve as Interim Head Coach. Shore joined Real Salt Lake as Goalkeeper Coach in January 2014. Prior to joining RSL, he served as Head Coach of the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers of the NASL from 2010-2013 and was Goalkeeper Coach for the Chicago Fire from 2000-2010."
So yeah, false alarm.

Petke to lead RSL to an MLS Cup while we just cry forever over here. Par for the course, it writes itself.

Cassar has never been convincing with RSL. I don't think he just got fired for this year.
Definitely not just for now. Things got bad there towards the end of last year and it was surprising that they gave him an extension. I don't know exactly why they would do that and then only give him 3 games to start the season. If they had such little confidence in him, should have cut ties without wasting an offseason.
Definitely think Petke will be a major candidate for the job. Plus the other usual names - Sigi, Bradley, Robin Fraser.

"Daryl Shore will serve as Interim Head Coach"
Just as well. I would lose it if Petke debuted as HC against us.
We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Interested to see how we play without Sacha.
If we insist on the 4-2-2-2 it's beneficial to not have him on the roster

he's like the best player in the team. I'd dread to see how we'd play without him, regardless of formation. If we insist on the 4-2-2-2 it's beneficial to not have him on the roster

It looks like some combo of Rimando, Beckerman, Allen, Plata and Rusnak will be out.

Wow... If those guys are out then we are in great shape to win... Soccer sucks in that any team can win on any day, but generally speaking, that would be huge.
