Same, but I'm just as amused that the Cosmos are about to dump millions on a stadium to be in the 2nd division.
Well, we can do our own tourney now with those 3 and the Brooklyn Italians.

So I guess what we can infer from all this is that Garber/Bloomberg couldn't get their stadium done (at least not yet) and MLS decided to go ahead with NYFC anyway. Does anyone know if MLS has admitted a team that didn't have a specific venue in mind? Maybe they have but this smacks of MLS saying: "we're dead set on NYFC and stadium or not we're adding them to MLS".

Interested to see where they play.
Opportunity there now for Red Bull to call themselves the Cosmos....

Wouldn't be surprised to see them spend a season or two in Yankee Stadium now.

Owned by Man City AND the Yankees...as if I need any other reasons to hate them. Can't wait but beat these assholes into the dirt.

Yankees are big money and will help the stadium deal.
But fuck if they don't want to alienate all the Man U fans for the opportunity to have the team be Man City B.

Yea, retrace the original Cosmos steps (Hofstra/Randall's Island, anyone)?
Really, I don't much care. If RB are any good they should welcome the competition. Frankly, it's more than likely NYCFC will make the same mistakes Metro/RedBull have in their history; e.g. big name coach, overpaid, disinterested DPs. Being backed by ManCity/Yankees doesn't guarantee they'll perform like ManCity/Yankees (well, Yankees anyway).
