Bezbatchenko said he expected the salary cap to rise US$1 million to $4 million after the next collective bargain agreement, allowing for more player investment.

Is there any in this rout with authority to treat with me? Or indeed with wit to understand me?

Oh good, more money for this club to shell out to 4th division rejects who will never be in the 18.

I don't know if it's even worth hoping for more money if the team isn't going to spend it.  I guess they HAVE to sign players, but who knows what ownership's budget would be.

If they are going to spend on players, it's best the cap goes up as much as possible.  4 Mill is not enough..

Thats what it should be but don't hold your breath. With that being said cap $$ is one thing different avenues to sign talent is another. We could get another DP slot or something to that effect, but if you look at it this was an extra $1Million is about 3BWP's

Umm, I'm pretty sure the cap currently is more than 1million right now. It's around 3-4 mil depending on you suck money and allocation money. Titi and Cahill take about 700k of our cap currently. Whe are not paying the rest of our team with 300k.

Am I missing something or is this article horribly off on their cap figures.

Seems like a piece from a badly misinformed writer.

He references 1 million as being the difference from what it is now to what it will likely be.   Split that 1 mill among players and you are looking at roughly 3 BWPs.

Presumably the Players' Union would like a say in this? Seems like Bez just kicked off the negotiations by proxy a little early.

$1M increase, plus maybe $300- 400K saved by eliminating DP's, plus another $300-400K cutting deadweight (Ecks, Armando, Convey) and it adds up to a 50% increase in money to play with.  Sell Oyongo and we get even more, and then the extra allocation money we get for  winning CCL and getting into the Club World Cup, and we should have a solid middle-of-the-table team next year.
