Kennedy would be an upgrade over Saunders. The Goats want to return to the days of "This is futbol" BS, so maybe the G's pick him up on the cheap... like give them back David Junior Lopes cheap...
I was at UCSB at the same time as Kennedy - dude was a beast in goal. Granted, it was collegiate level competition, but I do believe that he is a great goalie and has a good head on his shoulders. Plus, it never hurts to steal a hated team's best player whenever possible... it would be demoralizing for Chivas.

I like this
- Can't be the only one to want a return of Kevin Hartman (whether that's in a playing/mentoring/future/coaching role), since Dallas doesn't seem to want his services any longer.
- keep Juninho
- resign Magee
- send the Swede away (just fast but not really much else, can be had cheaper and without an INT slot too)
- shop Buddle and see if you get value.
- use Villarreal, Jimenez, Garcia, Meyer and the Reserves/Academy prospects
- wait for the right DP(s)

Wilhelmson is kind of like Brek Shea but with better hair and less explosiveness. And I hate Brek Shea. Done.
PLEASE buy out Juninho's contract from Sao Paolo. Then get him a green card. Then naturalize him. Then cap him.
Buddle really was awful on Saturday. Only reason to consider keeping him is if Donovan leaves and he can develop a partnership with Keane. Assuming Donovan leaves. But if someone wants him and is willing to give value, I'd say good bye to him. Am tempted with calling him Edson Butthole again.
Kaka would be cool.
And if we absolutely have to pander to the Korean community, I'm guessing QPR would be a great place to say good bye to. Come on over, Ji Sung Park.

Well if you had the Goats defense in front of you, I'm sure you would also leave a lot of rebounds in play as well.I don't know about Kennedy. He seems to leave a lot of rebounds in play. It's one thing to be a shot stopper, but you have to prevent goals, too. He blocks them and leaves lots of poacher's wet dreams in the area. I would pass. I'd be okay with them signing him if someone of quality is ready to step in--like Hartman.
More to point, he most likely faced a lot more shots than most MLS Keepers (452 in fact, 2nd most in the league). More shots = more rebounds. Even so, I'm sure that hiccup can be worked out of his game.
Kennedy is still an upgrade over Saunders, who looked shaky most of the year. Hartman could possibly be a good back up option. but he'll be 39 next season. Don't know how much he has left in the tank plus his salary may be a bit high to keep around on the bench.

- Barrett
- Boyens
- Jordan
- Nakazawa
- Noonan
- Perk
Note that:
- not all players qualify for it (players must be within MLS for a certain period of time, before they become eligible)
- the team can make these players a "cheap" contract offer: either the players sign it or the club ends up holding the players MLS rights for 2 years I believe, but he's a free agent outside of that
- Stage 1 @ this Friday (nothing much happens, as it's the players are on their current projected salary, unless a team really wants that particular player and without a trade)
- Stage 2 @ Friday in a week (if something happens it will usually do here at reduced salaries)

from Bruce's conference call this morning:
Adam Serrano @LAGalaxyInsider:
Bruce Arena confirms that Oscar Sorto will be signed and will be part of the @LAGalaxy in 2013.
(who the fuck is Oscar Sorto?)
Adam Serrano @LAGalaxyInsider:
Arena says that he does not expect Wilhelmsson to be back to the @LAGalaxy next season. "He has other options that he wants to look at."
Looks like (meaning the first couple google links that came up said) Sorto is an academy CB who went to Sweeden to learn from Beerholder for a while. So he's an HGP signing.
And more...
Arena: Ongoing conversations to bring Juninho back on loan from Sao Paulo.
Arena: No certainty Josh Saunders will return; he is out of contract. Bona fide offer has been made to Mike Magee.
Arena: No decision on potential HGP Raul Mendiola.
Arena: Yes, interest in Cal State Bakersfield AA Gyasi Zardes, who was Galaxy Academy.
Arena: Would love to play exhibition with Club Tijuana, will not play on Estadio Caliente's artificial turf.
Arena: Not vital to replace Beckham's position nor sign another DP.
Arena: Chad Barrett will not return, conversations with others on re-entry list, he expects player(s) to pull out of process.
more info trickling in
Scott French @ScottJFrench:

Seriously? Dude was still limping at the Championship rally.Fellow Brazilian Leonardo was also mentioned by Arena as someone the club was “discussing with him and his agent to bring him back.” The central defender has been hampered by injuries and did not feature in a regular season game for LA in 2012.
I'll never understand Bruce's devotion to this guy.

I also wonder about that. Every time he played, he was just bad. And now he can't remain healthy. What would you want that player on a team?Seriously? Dude was still limping at the Championship rally.
