I felt it in my soul when that woman at the end is lamenting "why can't it ever be us!?" after the second Wembley final.

Because we chose teams that never have their operations fully together, ma'am.

Looks like Austria and Germany are going to start reopening in the next couple weeks. Washington state also getting rid of ventilators since they too have rounded a corner, it seems.

Also this regarding US economy reopening: https://www.google.c...74b281d4f3.html

Looks like demand is growing fast to end the draconian measures that have been imposed on the public. Not only do they generate unnecessary fearmongering and anxiety (spotted people this weekend wearing face masks inside their own cars with windows rolled up, and also outside in wide open green spaces with nobody around), they are not sustainable at all.

Maybe we will see a return of sports even sooner.

speaking of fear mongering
draconian or prudent   Need significant measures to stop exponential growth.

Perhaps they wore the mask then so they did not have to keep taking it on and off an increase risk of infection?
Or maybe they expected to get out of car or encounter groups shortly so wanted to be prepared.
But hey why consider other people when you can just blame.

The fact that you cannot make the leap of logic to understand why a person would have a mask on in their cars (i.e. minimizing the possibility of cross contamination by repeatedly removing and placing the mask on - by simply keeping it on until they reach home) speaks volumes to the quality of your posts on this forum.

Like that article says, a lot needs to be figured out before things reopen again, but having those discussions (which has been publicly taboo) is a important step towards doing so.

As for the masks and people's intentions -- you are right, I don't know. And I shouldn't judge. But I believe a lot of people are wearing them out of pressure and fear, and probably wouldn't be doing so otherwise.

That's why I think it's necessary to dial back the doommongering. I mean Dr. Birx on Trump's coronavirus task force telling people not to even go to grocery stores right now. Fuck that...let's be vigilant, reduce the spread, save our sick and support the healthcare workers who are busting their asses day in day out, but those in power need to be more careful with what they say, because for a lot of people their anxiety was already sky-high before this even happened. There are a lot of people struggling mentally now. Life going back to normal (sports resuming, jobs, restaurants reopening, etc.) will help with that, so I hope it comes soon.

So because I questioned face masks now every post I make here is all the sudden blithering nonsense? Lol. Ridiculous logic.

Not every. Not sudden.
Some are overstated. Draconian is misused.

Public taboo?  no

To early to tell and SEVERLY LACKINING  DATA as testing levels are far below what is needed to enable discussions.

yes you don't know.  BUT you did judge.

Pressure? more like prudent

Fear?  fear is running for 30 minutes through a ward of coughing corona virus patients - thats fearful.

Taking precautions (as advised by Global medical experts) sounds like very low cost high MENTAL and EMOTION health reward - with a small amount of physical risk reduction.

Dr. Birx said to REDUCE as much as possible going out.  Not PROHIBITED.  Big difference.

If you have to go go. You do understand the concept of density reduction?

But if you are out of milk for your coffee (or cream in my case) suck it up for 1-2 weeks to REDUCE potential.

You can eat very limited for a few weeks and be ok if there are no medical concerns.  Mental health struggles are real and I feel for people - practice mental health.

We are a social bunch. Especially sports fans.
Most among us love going to the games.
Pre-gaming & post-gaming as well.
Isolation can lead to depression & loss of self-esteem.
On-line socialization is only a partial substitute.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

60 people who attended a March 10 practice, 45 have developed symptoms and 27 so far have tested positive, officials said. One of the group’s members has died, another has been hospitalized and others have struggled to overcome their illness.

or maybe discussions do not make sense as there will be rolling peaks for weeks to come through out the country (maybe even a couple month) with risk of reinfection and additional peaks.

Admiral Dr. Brett Giroir, assistant secretary for health at the US Department of Health and Human Services, said Monday that New York, New Jersey and Detroit will see peaks in hospitalizations and deaths due to coronavirus this week — and it will happen in other US cities in the weeks to come.

Fortunately, half of the choir skipped practice.
We do not know the ages & health of the choir.
Or how many brought the virus to the rehearsal.
SW is fortunate that we avoided something similar.

A prediction, that hopefully is accurate.

Just finished S2 today. Even knowing exactly what happens... it's just brutal.

Hope no one ever makes a Metro documentary. (We do have those 3 Shields...)

Also watched the Italian hooligan flick "Ultras" on Netflix. the main character looks like my 5th grade Math teacher, Mr Bellucci. at least this was better than Puerta7, a little better than The English Game, mainly because the score souned very Clockwork Orange-y/Giorgio Moroder-like.

RIP Guillermo Romulo, Alexander Francis Orig, Celenio Eleazar, and my Mom, Resurreccion Eleazar.

RIP Cesar Castello, Mike Vallo, Glenn Stampiglia, Bob Paquette, and Warren Lee

The youngest to fall ill was 31, but the average age was 67, officials said.

# of people infected and spreading are unknown.
