Drums

Soooooo.....
As an experiment in getting drums to work more effectively while not completely driving the drum hating crowd nuts the plan (which is of course up to review) is to move one drum each to the front of 137 and 138 on either side of the aisle. There will be no snare drum. This is more about acoustics as it will allow Tommy and Christian a better chance to hear the chants that are starting up from within the group and as a result not drum over a song effing the whole thing up.
Tommy has assured me that they will work diligently to not just drum but instead to drum in an unobtrusive manner. If there's a lull they will work to get the group going again. If the group is rocking, they will modestly add to the atmosphere.
We're going to give this a shot for a few games to see how it goes then tweak along the way when needed. If you currently stand in the front row of either section on the aisle please understand and allow Tommy and Christian the room that they will need. If you've long complained about the drum being pounded right behind your head now you know where not to stand.
Of course this could not work on a grand scale, but let's give it a shot for a couple of games and see if it just doesn't come off.
See you all Sunday

LARS is more of a VOCAL group and I look forward to encouraging that more and more. We do ask for you involvement and evolution in this experiment.
Besides... it could be worse... we could have smoke machine.

Christian, did you get to meet Davíd?
Still some problems with the back not being in synch with the front, but, it's not like I have the answer to that.

Those cheat sheets with songs were a great idea.

I thought the drums were very well done yesterday as well.Dunno about everyone else, but I thought this worked really well.

I think they were passing a crack pipe around the back.

At some point, I *thought* I heard someone doing the "Cars" song/chant, but it sounded like it died out before I could really tell where they were. Same with "This is LA".
That said, it was definitely good to be back. Can't wait for a night game.

Yeah, they kinda fizzled... Once they become more familiar they'll hopefully get picked up by more people more quickly.

Not a complaint here. Just an observation.I was in row M of 137, and couldn't hear a fucking thing that the front did, unless the drums were guiding it.
This comes up a lot and it's never resolved.
The back can't hear the front.
How about a capo?
No, we don't need/want a capo.
The back can't hear the front.
Then let's have a capo.
No, we don't need/want....
Circular argument.
What to do?
Have a capo?
No.
Yes!
No.
Ah fuck, stay the course! Steady as she goes.
Avast!

As a possible resolution to Rtb's point, what about a drum in the front and a drum in the back? I'll even offer up the front row of 137 remain the drumming row to ease a transition.
Possible?
What, you now own the rights to the front row?

It's still a work in progress.
However, there will have to be FUNDAMENTAL changes in LARS before we get 90 seconds or more of a chant/song from us.
