I grew up on the Bond films beginning with Roger Moore in Live and Let Die...

At one point I had memorized all the wacky racist lines from Sheriff JW Pepper in that film and the Man with the Golden Gun...

With Skyfall coming out tomorrow, I feel this is a conversation that we've never had here...

Best Bond?

Sean Connery? George Lazenby? Roger Moore? Timothy Dalton (my favorite)? Pierce Bronsan? Daniel Craig?

Slow-death-of-the-boards, be damned!

The Spy Who Loved me is my favorite bond movie. Goldfinger, Goldeneye, Thunderball, and now Skyfall come after it.

Nobody Does it Better from The Spy Who Loved me is my favorite opening credit song.

007 and Counting from Diamonds are Forever is my favorite soundtrack song.

Live and Let Die has the best opening movie theme, but Skyfall had an awesome one too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sn8alMYSu44

Nick Nack from The Man With the Golden Gun is my favorite villains sidekick. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9SjRccRlbk
Xenia Onatopp from Goldeneye is good too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1lu-Q_c0kQ
So are Bambi and Thumper from Diamonds are Forever, but they're only in 5 minutes of the movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRSZPXXGCp0

Honey Ryder is my favorite bond girl http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3lAjyUUS1g

...ooooh ooooooooh we are the riot squad...

Favorite badass:Posted Image

I still own an ancient white Lotus Esprit 007 sub-car from Matchbox. I also liked the machine gun ejector seat equipped Aston Martin from the Connery days, but the best feature was the revolving license plate.

I also had the Moonlander from Diamonds Are Forever.

I grew up in the Roger Moore era, but as I got older realized Connery was the best. Moore looks like he would break a nail in a fight and give up.

I love the SPECTRE volcano base from You Only Live Twice...awesome!

I was always a fan of On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Something about the downer ending really gets me. I thoroughly enjoy the more serious tone of the Daniel Craig movies. Makes 007 feel more like a bad ass than a caricature as the old Bond often came across as.

As a kid, I wanted the first BMW Z3 Roadster from Goldeneye... It was on screen for like what? 5 seconds?

Fuck I wanted that car...

One day...

In order, my favs...

The Living Daylights... (The stuntmen used for the cargo-net off the back of the plane must have had massive balls)...
Live and Let Die... (Delicious racism)...
For Your Eyes Only... (Lo-tech Bond and great story)...
From Russia With Love... (Robert Shaw as Red Grant! He totally looked like he could choke a bitch)...
Goldeneye... (Pierce Brosnan nailed it)...
License to Kill... (I loved Dalton's performance... Fans thought he was too edgy/angry but I thought he, out of all Bonds, was the closest to the source material...)
Casino Royale... (Daniel Craig made me forget about the dreadful Die Another Day... Wow was that bad...)

Connery's makeup in You Only Live Twice to help him pass as an Asian man despite being 3 feet taller than every other Asian man...

Roger Moore's bond was by far the corniest... But man was that dude suave... And he deflowered Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman...
Lakers (16x Champs) Dodgers (6x Champs) Galaxy (4x Champs) Broncos (2x Champs) LA Kings (2012 Stanley Cup Champs)
USMNT (One day, one day...)

Does one have to watch "Quantum Of Solace" before one sees "Skyfall"? Quantum is the only Bond movie I didn't see in the movies since Spy or Diamonds.

Nope. Skyfall is a completely separate story. Definitely worth seeing too. Very entertaining movie.

At the end of Quantum, Bond tells M she was right about Vespa. Right about what? Double Agent?

Good topic. I haven't seen the older films in quite some time. I remember renting License to Kill when I was a kid and thought it was awesome. These past two bond films have been meh with Quantum of Solace being down right boring. Dozed of twice in the theater on that one. All these bonds have had their good performances, can't pick just one but if I had to I'd go with Dalton because his was my first Bond film. The first always stands out.
