equating Sam with Dax is assinine.

Well I guess we know part of the reason Ali left LA early...

The move makes sense in a lot of ways, but it still feels weird.  Kind of wish we sent him out West, to a team that has a chance.

Now we see why Chicago gave up the 3rd pick for 250K gam from nycfc.

Chicago's website says the GAM is $200K this year, $200K next year.

What a joke. Dax is worth $200k this year but the third overall pick is worth $250k?

This franchise never ceases to disappoint me.

Trade a player when he gets his shot with the USMNT and on his first day there. A day after his wedding.

While Dax was probably in the know for a while, legends aren't treated well here.

I'm upset about this from an emotional perspective.  Logically though, I was telling someone a couple of weeks ago that Dax in no way deserved his national team call-up because his form was so far off from 2015.

Here's to Davis and friends making his absence less noticeable.

Since the middle of 2016, we made acquiring Dax our No. 1 priority

So these talks have gone on for a while...

We're not signing anyone. We just ran out of funny money, aka Garber bucks, to pay down Sacha or Veron.

Fuck.

Can't help but notice that this is how having youth development and a reserve team can pay for itself.

It's $200k for two years AND it opens up a spot for Sean Davis to start and Adams to be on the bench.

And do we know that Dax had no prior knowledge of the trade.  The timing is unfortunate, but if Dax has known for awhile that this was on the table would it matter if it was today or in a week?

A few places had listed Sean Davis as a potential breakout star for 2017.  Maybe there had been info out there that Dax was on his out.

The Academy and the USL team are both going to lead to more of stuff like this.  Veteran players are going to be pushed out early if we have younger, cheaper replacements ready.

Sad to see dax go but it makes sense on every level.

We shed his salary + get enough funny money to get another low level DP. Maybe an out and out left winger, move veron to the middle as Sacha or bwp backup.

Connor Lade was at Daxs wedding and seemed surprised by this by tweeting "wow :("

Leads me to believe it came as a surprise.
