both won't be here past age 27.

I hope they are so good we need to worry about that... but I also think the league salary flexibility would improve enough by then  that we could keep them if we wanted

It's been 2 games 1f914.png. Let the kid play guys. Time to move on. They are also undefeated so I'd say he's been just fine.

I can see Dax being a "players" coach after he hangs up his cleats.

well, as long as he doesn't fight with his own players.

They got along fine as teammates, otherwise he might go out of his way to remind the team that both goals in the opening game came after Davis was subbed.

Too many intagibles from Dax that don't show up in the boxscore. Underappreciated by the head coach and many of the fans, but the opposing players all respect him.

Hope he starts in the next USMNT qualifier.

Maybe Chicago should keep shopping for more players around MLS.

Seems like they need some more.

I'm not sure Ali deserves the blame for this trade. Wasn't it basically Marsch that pushed for it, and the Ali-Jesse power struggle was over that?

100% on Jesse, for better or worse.  TightPants wanted it to be Felipe.

Still don't get why we needed to trade someone. Tyler is going to be gone for the World Cup and SK16 could possibly be gone for some games add in the US Open Cup and we have plenty of minutes to go around. Hell Tyler might not even be here next year and I don't think Davis is best to pay next to Felipe.

I didn't like trading Dax but Adams doesn't play this amount  with Dax and Felipe still here.   Davis is starting quality despite the rough start to the year (just everyone else had time to sort it out - he got passed by Adamas.  Adams is 18 and could probably play 2x games per week for 52 weeks and still not be burned out.

Remember 18-22?  Drink til 4 nap and play a full 90, watch some EPL, then drink all afternoon watching NFL grab a full pizza and then on to Sunday night football.  Heck and I was just in average shape - Adams is in  pro athlete level shape.

Davis is cheap, and they thought they could create a lot of roster flexibility by moving one of the much more expensive vets without too significant of a drop in play. That's likely why we were able to hold on to Collin now that Orlando isn't covering half his salary, and pay a guy like Royer his full-year salary.

That said, the more I see Davis the more I think the gap between him and Dax is larger than we thought based on the small sample of games last year.
