MLS rejected a $5M bid from Lokomotiv Moscow for CCJ. Since they own all the contracts I guess they have carte blanche to make that decision. RBNY and CCJ were open to the move
Per Dyer
My kneejerk reaction is that they're idiots for rejecting this. Is CCJ really worth that much more than $5M?

If CCJ goes to Russia, I hope he is not fond of the weed...

MLS rejected it, not RB, probably because of Russia

Russia likes Venezuela though, so maybe he'd be good?

He is dark-skinned. Russians are not exactly fans.
Seriously, why the fuck would anyone want to go play in Russia?

I wonder if US sanctions on Russia played a role as to why MLS said no to the transfer.
Lokomotiv is literally owned by Russia itself. (They are owned by Russian Railways, which in turn is owned by the state.) Why the fuck would MLS accept the check only for it to be seized by the US government?
Don't deal with fucking Russia, MLS. There are other countries.

You dont tip your hand. It would be malpractice to not transfer CCJ out.
In the majority of the soccer world, sure. In MLS and specifically RB, it's not. What's the benefit? You get some GAM? Maybe they can use that to bring back Caden Clark again!
I only see the benefit of selling players* once they use up every other avenue to improve the team. (Tyler Adams GAM and the 3rd DP slot.)
*Good players. Please sell Klimala ASAP... but even he doesn't deserve Russia.
