based on injuries to starters and backe's reliance on players he consistently selects as starters/subs.

RIP Guillermo Romulo, Alexander Francis Orig, Celenio Eleazar, and my Mom, Resurreccion Eleazar.

RIP Cesar Castello, Mike Vallo, Glenn Stampiglia, Bob Paquette, and Warren Lee

are people seriously trying to shoe-horn Ballouchy into starting lineups? over the fucking wipeout thing?

Meara
Solli-Keel-Hulk-Miller
Richards-Rafa-Dax-Lindpere
Henry-KFC

Vuolo; Lade, Ruthven; Palsson, Ballouchy, Barklage; Angulo

Palsson for Rafa at 45. Ballouchy for Lindpere around 70-75. Barklage for whoever at 89.

Keep it simple, seriously. the less changed from our starting lineup last game, the better.

Sounds good to me.

Rafa and Teemu I figured would be offsettting each other with injuries, but because this one is long term it becomes a bigger issue. Probably 7-8 straight games without Teemu, Palsson is going to have to see a lot of the field as will Ballouchy.

And we have no one tested behind Keel to fill in at the CB position, especially bc Rafa is now locked in at CDM due to Teemu's injury.

Has Palsson played central defense? Can Miller?

I think people are calling for Bleucheese to start because he has played better than Joel so far this year. Joel just hasn't looked like himself this season.

i agree Lindpere hasn't been great, but the fact is he has a much more quantifiable value as a starter than Ballouchy. Lindpere has been disappearing, but he hasn't been making massive 'oh fuck did that seriously just happen' mistakes either. Ballouchy tends to make those when he starts. I like when the Hans limits his minutes, as it seems it's when he's most effective.

Ballouchy has always been pretty good as a sub.

And he has always been pretty terrible as a starter.

Why mess with it?

I can't imagine Lindpere will sit, I bet splitting minutes in training was just a way to motivate him.

Or maybe just start B.Ditty on the left, Lindpare to the center to help out Dax when Rafa needs to come out?

I never understood people's opposition to settling Lindpere into a central spot. He carried our 2010 team through the first half of the season with his play through the center of the field, I feel like he was pushed to the wing simply because he's the only left footed midfielder we had (don't even mention Nielsen...) Backe shifted him to the center of the midfield while the team was struggling through injuries and international callups last year and he yet again rose to the challenge and carried the team when nobody else was able to step up. I remember looking at the chalkboard for the away game to Chicago last year and being blown away by the quantity and range of touches he took, he was everywhere and took something around a dozen touches in the opposing box as a CM! The dude was everywhere and would have won us the game if not for Bouna's U-13 quality goalkeeping.

Is this the first time Backe ever benched a regular for performance reasons?
