Inevitably there will be injuries/ suspensions. Having one really good player on the bench at any give time is a good thing.

Tainio can also play RB.

log jam there as well: Solli, Borrajo, Lade, and to a lesser extent Holgersson (whose apparently saw time there last season in Sweden, but sucked)

it's also not bad to have a rotation policy. tainio can not go a full season again or else he will be dead next year. giving him a week off every few weeks won't necessarily be a bad thing if we have dax, marquez, palsson (Assuming he's good), ireland, kassel??

Putting aside whatever attitude and stupidity problems he may have - and that's not easy to put aside - Stephen Ireland would be a HUGE pick up for us, a massive DP. He was the the man for man city before they got the money, and his direct style of play fits this league well. And at his age, its certainly too good to believe. What could he be getting paid? Positionally and financially, it would have to mean Rafa's gone, no? And I have no idea how he'd get on with Henry, but he doesn't seem emotionally tied to the national team.

He's fucking nasty.

Plus he'd take all free kicks and corners. His placement is fucking CRAZY.

He would be absolutely perfect if we could afford his salary.

Seems like a bit of a nut, but he's the right position and the right age. Definitely interesting.

When he's knocked to the pitch, will Henry give him a hand?

logjam in the middle.

Marquez, Tainio, Lindpere.

Richards would sit or be pushed up top.

You say logjam, I say depth! With injuries, travel, heat exhaustion, we will be able to get everyone plenty of minutes. Especially because we'll be making a serious push for USOC this year.

the logjam/depth issue would be great for an actual Cup run. I look forward to it. Agudelo and Cooper up top against avg competition? should be fun to watch.

Can we play FCNY again? Doh.

I'm all for Stevie Ireland. Good memories of him from my FIFA '09 MC side. Elano took a lot of his playing time but Ireland was great off the bench and for starting depth.

Would be massive to get a good youngish player.

Seems like a lad who has his priorities in order. Sign him up. Can't be any worse for team chemistry than Rafael.
