Seriously, what does that trophy represent, other than MLS's hard on for Liga MX? I would really like to know.

Struber says Klimala, Amaya, and Ngoma are scratches against NYCFC, everyone else is ready.

Ngoma he says is done for the season, they are being extra cautious with his health which seems to be a trend among their really young guys.

They were extra cautious with Long too. On Lades podcast, Aaron said he would have gotten back to play in the playoffs last year, but the team protected him from himself and shut him down for the season.

If that's true that may be one of the few positive trends in this team over the past few years. Always better to just take the hit and help a player fully recover.

Right thing to do for Nyoman but I look forward when he gets back and get a run of games!!!!

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

Is there any chance of us getting a CCL spot thru standings this year? Like if Philly wins MLS Cup, would the CCL spot go to the next best place in the East standings? Is Montreal eligible to qualify for CCL thru MLS or only the Canada Cup?

US gets 4 slots, Canada 1 slot to Canadian "Champ" winner, so Montreal is not eligible even if it wins MLS Cup!?

But it would go down the regular season standings, not East standings, excluding Montreal. So right now Austin is the first one up, and we're 4 points behind.

Maybe US soccer will just give it to Atlanta because of reasons precedent (of previously giving it to Atlanta)!

Would love a Long-Reyes pairing, but cant envision Struber benching Nealis despite his play regressing this season.

Reyes is often tasked with cleaning up Nealis messes, so they should cut out the middle man, so to speak.

I think they do exactly this and sit long for cbus after he returns from USMNT
Reyes long nyc
Reyes Nealis cbus
Last game against Charlotte should then be starting 11 for playoffs

This is changing for next season FYI.

MLS will have 5 spots in the 2024 CCL earned through 2023 league play (MLS Cup, SS, other conference winner, next two in overall table), country not relevant.

There will also be the Open Cup winner, the Canadian Championship winner, and 3 slots available from the Leagues Cup, so MLS could theoretically put 10 teams in the 2024 CCL.
