Red Bulls training facility off Park Avenue* gets final OK

(*No, the other Park Avenue)

https://www.newjerse...ign=user-share?

"The project, spread across 81 acres, will feature seven full-size outdoor soccer pitches, academy dorms, four practice fields, a field house, an indoor half field, a groundskeeping facility and buildings to house the team’s front office staff.

The total cost for the project would be about $112 million, the applicant’s planner Michael Tobia said at a meeting on May 16, and would be constructed in three phases over six years, finishing in 2028."

1. Glad they are still investing. Seems a positive sign.

2. Women's academy space & dorms is a good step for youth development for both the Men's & Women's game in the US.

3. If we don't spill some money into the transfer budget, I wonder if there will be anyone left in the stadium in 2028+ to see the benefits these investments provide, but, anyway, dead former owner or not, the investment continues, which is good (this was obviously in the works for a while). With a $112M price-tag, seems like it'll be a best-in-class (or close to it) kind of facility, which is good to hear.

Now, back to improving the first team roster...

knowing our luck they'd buy two Klimala-esque wastes of roster space for ~$5m each.

RIP Cesar Castello, Mike Vallo, Glenn Stampiglia, Bob Paquette, and Warren Lee

No worries. FO will announce full houses and use CGI to show packed sections.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Using the movie magic of green tarps!

The training center is an asset that will help convince a serious future buyer that this club has the bones to be something epic.

Nah - they will say RB is putting a fresh coat of paint on to help with the price tag

Never!!!!

My conspiracy theory - they are trying to replicate this: Barça Academy - Official Website (fcbarcelona.com) Self-funded (pay to play for most) residency camps that have a reasonable chance of finding the next Tyler Adams, Brendon Aaronson, without having to pay for a first team that can actually compete.

Is t it mls requirement not pay for play or almost all mls teams have moved towards free academy but ok

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

Only Minnesota and the Scum are still pay for play, though I would imagine they have "scholarships."
