Closest thing we've got to a rumor.

I probably shouldn't be saying this but during the signing event at RBA, Chris said they are very interested and close to signing a young premier league winger/left back.

Great so a potential signing for a position we do not have a need for!

Disagree, we do have a need at wingback.

so this player has to have work rate.

might play inverted on the opposite side (if the guy's a lefty).

is this player out of contract or are we actually paying a transfer fee for him?

Lets just indulge this hypothetical, if the signing can play LW, you could always flip Royer to RW

Or you could play inverted wingers with Royer on the left and this hypothetical signing on the right

Royer doesn't look all that great on the right, takes away his ability to go for goal.

Looking at TM, I can't find any young defenders who played in the premier league who are out of contract.

Would certainly fit the bill of "not a depth piece" like Armas said, but this would be WILD.  Chelsea were asking 30m pounds last season.

Just a guess

The New York Red Bulls previously kicked around Major League Soccer as the MetroStars with limited success. But after transforming under a new banner in 2005, the Red Bulls have become a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference. The club has made leaps of progress since its previous incarnation and now has its focus on bringing the league title to New York. Matthew Olosunde play left back?

"Obviously, I want to make a living (in soccer), to say the least," he said. "There's so much you can accomplish in the soccer world, and right now I'm focused on having a good season with the Red Bulls. Ultimately, our goal is to win the MLS Cup, and I see no reason why we can't." - #4 Tyler Adams
