If, like most owners, Benson wants to also have the teams he owns share colors, he should switch the Hornets to Black and Gold, then chose a pirate inspired name. If I recall correctly Jean Lafitte is a hero in the area.

If that's the case, then, obviously, they should be the New Orleans Sinners.

Other possibilities...

New Orleans Yellow Feaver

New Orleans Po'Boys

New Orleans Beignets

New Orleans Nutria

And the most obvious one, the New Orleans Jazz, is already taken

New Orleans Gluttons? I must be getting old; that was my sin of choice when I visited there. But damn, the food is so incredibly good.

"I have long said, however, that the best approach for the league is to simply move the names of three franchises. Under this change, the league would now feature the Memphis Hornets, the Utah Grizzlies, and the New Orleans Jazz. Then all we need to do is change the Wizards back to the Bullets and have the Bobcats rename themselves anything else and we're set!"

How about New Orleans Creole Kings?

Hornets new owner wants to change their name to some more that fits the city, what would you suggest? Some already said the New Orleans Bounty Hunters.

Actually the Bobcats should become the Hornets, since the Hornet name is actually associated with the Charlotte area.

Which has been thrown around the last couple of days. They should, if, the NBA doesn't fold the team first, ha!

Adding Nick Young is pretty meh.

Nick Young finally caught fire Monday and helped carry the team over the Thunder to clinch the Clips first play off berth since 2006. Hopefully he keeps it up into the playoffs.

Advanced ticket sales for first round start today. Going to grab a couple....time to dust off the Clippers playoff shirt!!!

They handed them out at the gate during the 2006 playoffs for a game or two. Pretty non-descript other than it says both "Clippers" and "Playoffs" on the same shirt.
