I don't think it was garbage.  The model just gets more accurate with the more data it gets.  In the beginning of the pandemic, you were looking at a wider range of possibilities.  Now with more data, you are getting a more narrow and precise prediction.

You are right in that is like a weather forecast, it's just media and other people were citing it as gospel when thankfully it turns out not to be.

NPR website has modeling on the projected peak in each state. Of places with MLS teams, DC already peaked on April 4th, New York's peak is supposed to be today, NJ is April 12th, but Texas, Minnesota and Utah aren't supposed to peak until 2-1/2 weeks from now. If those are truly the peaks, then it would be at least 2 or 3 weeks after that before they should even think about restarting training. Oh, and for you NYCFC fans, the peak in Connecticut is on April 22nd

That IMHE model has turned out to be inaccurate garbage though. On Monday this week they were claiming the peak would be April 16 for New Jersey, now at this moment they are saying April 11. It's state death figures also keep getting revised downward as officials are coming out on a daily basis reporting lower body counts than what that model has been estimating for its means.

Last weekend it said 93k deaths in the US, then on Sunday it dropped to 82k, then it dropped to 60k on Wednesday. I'm very happy the number has fallen that much but it's proving the model is just a hot mess. You really can't rely upon it for anything, other than an example of how off some of these doom and gloom estimates can be.

yeah, makes sense, because it's "all a hoax", and it's "just a flu," right?

No one should be doing anything until we reach a plateau and or stop having people die and have this bullshit under control..

You can't play God and have the death count down to zero going forward. It's just impossible and unrealistic.

17 million now unemployed as a result of the closures. And that's probably lowballing the real number because states seem more preoccupied with doommongering and spreading fear than fixing their overburdened unemployment hotlines.

Maybe we see MLS teams start training May 1 with a return to league play by Memorial Day weekend.

The doomers can't keep up their charade forever. I'm glad public opinion is finally starting to shift on this.

Heard it is protective if you put your head Grelladhino all the way under the water and hold it there :-)

Cool, so wishing death on other posters is now tolerated on MetroFanatic.

What is wrong with you? Go get some mental help dude. You need it.

I'm sure you'll respond with some variation of "yawn/troll" (I've never cared for any of your posts like that, nor do they annoy me in any way, so I'm not sure why you keep trying to get my attention as I ignore them every time... haven't you figured that out already?).
