i saw in the Open Cup thread that a few people have already gotten tickets to the final. I am leaning towards going, but haven't gotten tickets yet.

Anyway, figured to start a new thread to discuss logistics separately from the game thread. if you are going - post any relevant / useful info here.

Seems like renting a car is the best option...their stadium is about 20 miles south of the airport, but also about 15 miles west of downtown Kansas City.  I'm thinking:

- early flight into KC Wednesday morning

- pick up car rental

- drive to downtown KC for some ribs and a few beers

- drive to the game around 630ish (8pm kickoff)

- drive back 20 mins north to an airport hotel after the game

- early Thursday morning flight back home

I booked my flight this morning. I had a few hotels already booked the night kc beat San Jose since you cancel for free. I'm undecided about a car.

I'm flying Tuesday though. Flying in Wednesday morning is cutting it too close for me in case of delays.

Have a nephew who just relocated out there, so counting on him for a car and sofa.

Move fast:  Flight prices for Kansas City on Sep 20 - Sep 21 are likely to rise 45% in the next 5 days.

***Update:  flights booked, plus 1, plus nephew for the game  Any word on tickets?

I'm sitting on a lot of Hilton points, and also a small chunk of Marriott points. I think I am going to book one of the Marriott airport hotels since they are only 15k points (the Hilton ones are 20k).

I am not sure how much parking is at the stadium.  Parking + gas + car rental might come out to around the same as Uber everywhere. However, I feel uneasy having to travel over 30 miles and relying on an Uber. What if no one wants to travel that far?

Waiting on the game ticket until I tell my wife the plan...

What section do they have away support sitting?

Are people getting tickets on StubHub? There will be an official allocation for RB though, right?

Nice strategy.

I'll be on a family vacation in Orlando watching ESPN on my phone while walking around in Harry Potter land.

There should be an official supporters section for NY fans. Wait on buying tickets until the supporters clubs can chime in on details from the KC FO, etc.

I'm hoping to get confirmation in the next day or two that I'm available, then will proceed to book flight/hotel. In terms of game tickets, I saw a tweet from Viking Army this morning that said NY traveling support are getting 4 sections.
