Thought i read that bezecourt got reinjured lately while playing with the reserves. Probably not best to count on a guy with 2 knee injuries so far this year. Would rather have veteran depth for half a year in tchani

Chicago just cut two players, Kevin Ellis (who sucks, but started for them) and Tchani.

Something is not right there...

And i think Ellis was shuffled from SKC because of his behavior there.

Rumors that Chicago is trying to sign Mex NT level CB from a Spanish team, Hector Moreno. Maybe it's a cap space thing. Wouldn't surprise me if that was one of the reasons as well.

Not a cap space thing. They're still on the hook for both Ellis and Tchani's salaries unless they're picked up by another team.

Yeah there won't be anyone there tomorrow to sing fireeee, fireeee, fireeee, fire, fire, fire, fireeee over and over again. Best part is the Chicago front office decided to suspend them for a game even though they were already protesting the game anyway lols

They need to just build a proper stadium in Chicago and get rid of the fire at this point. That proposed USL team actually in Chicago is easily going to blow away the fire in attendance whenever it opens.

Holy crap.  I had no idea this was planned:

Is this real or a pipe dream?  Cuz I agree:  a team in Lincoln Park would prolly outdraw the Fire.  Great neighborhood for a stadium.

Yeah it's real, the owner of the cubs is the owner and you add this fan mess with how poor Bridgeview is as a location and Bridgeview will be more of a ghost town than it already is. The only major thing is that Bridgeview has like an 18 year lease but I'm sure they will just pay the city at that point.

USL team is supposed to start in 2021 so they can just pay off the 15 years and knock down Toyota park because there is no way the Fire can compete.

What a mess.
This is what concerns me about the GSU situation.
These issues can fester & metastasize.
Typical of Fire idiocy, for its FO to turn on its SGs instead of focusing on addressing its on-field problems.
Poor Dax.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Worth bringing Tchani for the run-in? Not a position of need but we've nothing to lose and in case someone gets hurt, he could be handy. The cap hit is, what, half of his 353k at this stage?

Hasn't the knock on Tchani always been a poor work ethic? If so he's probably not the best fit for us, especially since we've already got 3 pretty strong CMs.

As someone who used to drive 3.5-4 hours from my home in upstate NY to go to RBA 4 or 5 times a year, I'm used to the long commute for games. When I went to the USA - Brazil women's game at Toyota Park last week though, it took me over two hours to travel the 14 miles to the stadium. Just...infuriating.

I'm hoping this USL stadium works out, because it's walking distance from where I live now, and based on the number of conversations I've had with borderline soccer fans who are extremely excited about it, I get the feeling it will be a huge success.

Pretty ambitious plans for a minor league team in a league where independent club attendances average less than 10K, except for FCC, which is coming to MLS.

The roof means year-round use of the facility.,

This is a situation where I could see, for once, a true "United" team, where they merge.  How the fuck a USL team can manage an in-town stadium when  the MLS owners couldn't is baffling.

The USL owner appears to have money & a big developer behind him. They can build the stadium downtown, but will they fill it, with a minor league team in a major league city?
